In just three years in the fight game, Kayla Harrison has established herself as one of the most dominant forces in women’s MMA, working her way up to perfect 11-0 record, all bouts except one fight under the Professional Fighters League (PFL) banner. Nine of her wins have come by way of stoppage, seven in the first round.
Kayla won her first-ever MMA title in 2019, defeating Larissa Pacheco via unanimous decision to win the promotion’s $1 million prize. Now, the two-time Olympic gold medalist is one more win away from capturing her second $1 million check if she can defeat Taylor Guardado in the main event of PFL 10 tonight (Weds., Oct. 27, 2021) inside Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida.
As for Guardado, she has the chance to make history by pulling off one of the biggest upsets in MMA history with a win over the judo specialist. Guardado is 3-0 under the PFL banner, with the combined victories earning her a spot in the finals against Harrison.
All three of Guardado’s wins have come via decision, so she has shown to have what it takes to drag her opponents into deep waters and grind out a win. A “W” for Guardado will be the biggest of her career and open up new doors — the likes of which she never imagined.
