Solid left hand split from “Chaos.” Another good series of punches from Covington, but Usman fires back with the jab. Hard jab from Usman then a looping body shot. These two are brawling, and Covington gets wobbled a bit. Usman lands a left up high and then down to the chest. Lead left from the challenger. Counter hook from Usman scores. 115 lbs.: Strawweight champion Rose Namajunas vs. Zhang Weili
Round one: Zhang opens with a pair of low kicks. Namajunas advances, lands a good combination of punches. Counter strikes connect for Namajunas, who then scores big with another hard combo. Zhang grabs the body lock and forces her way into top position. Namajunas playing open guard. Zhang cannot pass, but she lands a big punch instead. Namajunas escapes back to her feet, and the two trade shots in the clinch.
Zhang low kick and follow up punches. “Thug Rose” kicks the leg. Front kick from Namajunas stuns Zhang, but was it a slip? That obscures an otherwise clear-cut round to score. 10-9 Zhang
Round two: Hard Zhang low kick to start. Namajunas puts together a nice combo, finishes with a low kick. Big right hand connection for Zhang. Namajunas answers! Zhang low kick, and the two trade hooks. Namajunas connects on a good hook. Huge left hook from Zhang stumbles the champion! Namajunas keeps her away with a side kick, then Zhang scores a takedown off a caught kick. Upkick from Rose. Namajunas scrambles back to her feet and lands in an exchange. Namajunas lands a trip takedown! She finishes the round on top in half guard. 10-9 Zhang
Round three: Immediate exchanges. Good cross from Namajunas. Glancing kicks from Zhang. Zhang coming up short on her punches, takes a low kick. Hard low and body kick from Zhang. Slower pace than the first two rounds. Namajunas lands a hard right hand to counter a Zhang low kick. Shoulder strikes from the champ in the clinch. Simultaneous low kicks. Clean check hook from Namajunas, but Zhang returns the favor majorly just seconds later. Zhang snatches up a single leg and finishes the shot. Zhang takes the back! Finishes the scramble in mount! Once again, crazy finish to any otherwise solid round for Namajunas. 10-9 Namajunas
Round four: Zhang lands an early series of low kicks, followed by a right hand. Namajunas answers with a big right. Another! Zhang catches a kick but cannot keep her down. Left hook from Zhang scores. Chopping low kick from Zhang, and she changes levels to complete another takedown. Zhang secures both hooks and the back mount. Namajunas spins into top position at the midway point of the round! Namajunas isn’t landing a ton, but she’s controlling her foe from within the guard. The fight stays there to the bell, 10-9 Namajunas
Round five: Zhang lands some low kicks and a left hook. Trip takedown from “Thug Rose!” Zhang tries to elevate into a leg lock, eats some punches for her efforts. Namajunas is maintaining good control and landing short punches and elbows. Time is ticking away for Zhang, who has been unable to make space from bottom position. It’s not hugely damaging or exciting, but it’s effective work that earns Namajunas the win on my scorecard. 10-9 Namajunas

135 lbs.: Frankie Edgar vs. Marlon Vera
Round one: Edgar right hand, Vera snap kick. Edgar shoots off a Vera leg kick, denied. Good left hands from Edgar. Combinations landing in the first minute. He catches a body kick, can’t use it. He goes low-high, eats a leg kick. Quick exchange. Edgar catches a kick for a takedown, avoiding a guillotine on the process. On top in half guard two minutes in. Vera regains guard. Vera throwing elbows off his back. Two minutes to go.
Solid punches from Edgar. Keeping Vera stacked, landing elbows. Vera suddenly stings him with upkicks, prompting Edgar to come back down with a minute to go, More good elbows by Edgar, Vera fires his own. Late upkick by Vera. 10-9 Edgar.
Round two: Edgar lands a takedown with a minute off the clock. Vera continues to score with punches and elbows off his back. Short punch inside by Edgar from top position. Vera pushes off and gets back to his feet. Midway through the round. One-two by Edgar. Uppercut by Edgar followed by a right. Vera responds with a knee down the pipe. Flying knee by Vera and Edgar drops to a knee. One minute left. Leg kick by Edgar followed by another. Right hand lands by Edgar. Vera scores a sharp body kick and what looks to be an elbow. 10-9 Vera
Round three: Body kick lands by Vera. Right hand lands for Edgar. Vera blocks a head kick. Another front body kick lands for Vera. Edgar fires back with a three-punch combination. Vera defends a takedown attempt by Frankie. Hard leg kick scores for “Chito.” Two minutes down. Lead jab lands for Vera. Vera misses with a power right. Vera rushes in and Edgar secures a quick takedown. Edgar can’t hold Vera down and he escapes to his feet. Just over one minute remaining. Vera launches a front kick to the face and it lands flush on Edgar’s chin. Edgar falls to the canvas and Vera walks away with the third-round finish.

Round one: Quarantillo lands an overhand right, follows with a series of uppercuts. Burgos looking to chop away at his lead leg, Quarantillo lands a jab, eats a cross counter. One minute in. Burgos grabs a body lock and takes him do the fence. Foot stomps. Both fire knees to the body. They separate. Counter jab from Burgos. Hard cross counter, left hook from Quarantillo in return. Jab exchange, more Burgos low kicks two minutes in. Quarantillo fires an uppercut and they trade more jabs. Heavy rights from Burgos. Trading in the center, both land heavy rights. More jabs from Quarantillo. Overhand right, eats a left hook in return with two minutes to go.
Clinch uppercuts from Quarantillo, clean jab behind it. Great exchanges. Quarantillo shoots, denied, gets reversed. One minute to go. Separation. Looking for a single-leg, eating shots. Shoulder strike on the fence. Burgos reverses and digs a knee downstairs. They trade rights on the break. Burgos to the body again. Two minutes in. He takes Quarantillo to the fence. They separate soon after. Good uppercut by Quarantillo, tripped again. Burgos with a knee to the body and a heavy cross counter. Two minutes to go.

Landing jabs, eats a low kick and ties up. They separate. Trading in the center, more Burgos calf kicks. Quarantillo jacks his jaw with a right cross but he’s now struggling to move. Huge right hands hurt Quarantillo and Burgos is walking him down. Quarantillo swinging for the fences as he retreats, gets blasted by a body shot and they war on the fence. Damn. 10-9 Burgos.
Round three: Trading monster punches to start the round, brief pause for an eye poke. Quarantillo’s leg is jacked but he’s still throwing back. 1-2 from Burgos, another calf kick, heavy left hook. Another calf kick drops Quarantillo but he’s still throw. Good right hand. One minute in. Quarantillo shoots, briefly completes the single-leg. Unsuccessful roll for a leglock. Burgos calf kick, stuffs another shot. Good knee to the body, then to the head while framing. Two minutes in. Pressing Quarantillo against the fence. Elbow on the exit. Counter right by Burgos, tries another elbow. Quarantillo tries his own, gets reversed against the fence. They separate. Elbows from Quarantillo with two minutes to go.
Burgos with some counter rights, lands to the body, whiffs on a spin. Quarantillo shoots again, looks for the back. Leglock attempt, denied. Burgos landing as he defends. Quarantillo left hook on the exit. One minute to go. Another calf kick and knee by Burgos. Both landing huge shots in the center. Knees from Quarantillo. He shoots, denied. Good knee. Burgos reverses, grabs a rear body lock. One more huge right for the road. 10-9 Burgos.

Michael Chandler vs. Justin Gaethje
Round one: Gaethje opens with a leg kick, eats a left hook. Chandler checks the next one. Counter right from Gaethje, low kick. Another cross counter, eats a leg kick in return. Gaethje fakes a level change and they trade heavy calf kicks. Trading heat and Gaethje gets stung a minute in. Both land heavy low kicks. Hard punches from both sides, tearing into each other’s legs. Booming lead right by Chandler. Landing his jab two minutes in. Check hook by Gaethje, gets blasted with two huge right hands. Left hook from Gaethje in return, avoids a flying knee but gets blasted with a 1-2. Gaethje hurt on the fence but throwing monster shots back at him. Good elbow. Two minutes to go.
Brief clinch. Chandler gets the Thai clinch for a moment, eats an uppercut on the exit. Left hook from Gaethje, who blocks a wound-up bomb. More Gaethje leg kicks, clean uppercut and chopping right. One minute to go. Nasty body shots from Chandler in the clinch. He shoots, denied, eats another low kick and a swatting left hook. Straight right soon after. Another hard low kick from Gaethje. Damn, how do you even score that? 10-9 Gaethje on the late work?
Round two: 3-2 from Gaethje early on. More jabs from Chandler in response, right cross behind them. Solid potshots, low kick and body shot. One minute in. Cuffing right by Gaethje, follows with a leg kick and an uppercut. Long chopping right. Short hook by Gaethje, then an uppercut that sends Chandler to the canvas. Chandler clinging to a single-leg for dear life. Gaethje looking to land to the body and head in the sprawl two minutes in. He tries to take the back, then lets him up. Chandler’s left leg looks compromised but he’s still pushing forward. Stiff jabs from Gaethje, leans into an uppercut with two minutes to go.
Left hook from Gaethje, stuffs a shot. Another long uppercut by Gaethje lands clean. Now Chandler comes back with a hard cross. Another low kick and sprawl. Chandler switches to southpaw and eats a pair of nasty uppercuts for his trouble. Nice body shots lands for him with a minute to go. 2-3 from Gaethje, body and low kicks behind it. 1-2 from Chandler, then an eye poke. The ref doesn’t give Gaethje any time to recover for some reason. 10-8 Gaethje.
Round three: Another low kick spins Chandler around and he switches back to southpaw, where he eats a right cross. Gaethje left hook. Hard right hand by Chandler, leg kick comes back at him a minute in. Chandler tries to time an uppercut, as does Gaethje. Short rights by Chandler, good series of body shots. More body shots. Gaethje comes back with a left hook, then another. Chandler calling him on. There’s another nasty leg kick. Chandler goes for a high-amplitude slam, but Gaethje sneaks out the back door and lands some hard right hands before Chandler works his way up. Hard left hook on the break. Gaethje jab, Chandler body shots. Chandler coming on strong, appears to sting Gaethje with an uppercut. Gaethje knocks him back with a vicious right cross. Two minutes to go.
Chandler waving Gaethje on, shrugs off a huge left hook but gets wobbled by a cross. Another calf kick, left hook. Chandler can barely move at this point. One minute to go. Chandler calling on the crowd as Gaethje slowly walks him down. Chandler tries a tornado kick. Again. Gaethje lands a body kick in the waning seconds. 10-9 Gaethje.
Final result: Gaethje def. Chandler by unanimous decision
Andreas Michailidis vs. Alex Pereira
Round one: Both men staying at range. Michailidis shoots, gets his hands locked a minute in and drags Pereira to the mat. Pereira working his way up against the fence. Michailidis looking for the back, has a hook two minutes in. Pereira manages to turn and face him with two minutes to go.
Pereira trying to land short punches and knees as he defends. Ref separates them with just over a minute to go. Michailidis immediately puts him on the fence again. Michailidis continually grabbing the fence. 10-9 Michailidis.
Round two: Alex Pereira avoids a low kick, then crushes Michailidis with a flying knee. Michailidis is awake enough to avoid a walk-off, but Pereira swats him a couple more times for the finish.
Final result: Pereira def. Michailidis by TKO (flying knee and punches)
Bobby Green vs. Al Iaquinta
Round one: Quick jab from Green to start, oblique kick behind it. Counter jab. Green controlling range early. Both whiff with their power hands. Iaquinta low kick a minute in, walks into a right hand. Heavy 2-1 from Green. Counter jab. More clean counters. Iaquinta loading up, not connecting. Right hand from Green two minutes in. Counter 1-2 buckles Iaquinta and Green follows him down into guard after sprawling on a panic shot, piling on hammerfists until Iaquinta covers up for the finish.
Final result: Green def. Iaquinta by TKO (punches)
Chris Curtis vs. Phil Hawes
Round one: Hawes on the front foot to start. Good body kick. Continuing to send out body kicks. Hard combination near the fence. More gnarly body kicks, abandons a shot a minute in. 1-2 lands for Curtis. Heavy 1-2 rattles Curtis. Another one lands, then a body kick behind it. Combination upstairs two minutes in. Knee stomp. Big 1-2 on the counter, oblique kick. Curtis finds a counter right hook, denies a shot. Jab exchange, 1-2 from Hawes. Body shot to knee. Curtis lands to the body. Two minutes to go.
Overhand right to abandoned shot by Hawes. 1-2. Short uppercut from Curtis. Solid body shot. One minute to go. Curtis tries a head kick, eats a body kick. The two step in at the same time and Curtis discombobulates him with a vicious left hand. Hawes wobbles back and tries to stay on his feet as Curtis swarms, but there’s way too much fire coming his way. His legs give out and in comes the ref.

Nassourdine Imavov vs. Edmen Shahbazyan
Round one: Both men sitting just outside of range. Low kick from Shahbazyan. Another soon after. One minute in. Imavov tries a 3-2 and 1-2, eats another leg kick. Check hook and low kick from Shahbazyan. Imavov comes back with a 1-2, prompting a clinch. Shahbazyan changes levels, but gets caught in a guillotine as he spins Imavov down. He pops his head free and settles in guard with two minutes to go.
Imavov spins his way to the feet and digs a knee to the body in the clinch. Left hand on the exit. Hard 1-2s from the Frenchman. One minute to go. Elbow on the break, overhand right. Shahbazyan cracks him with a counter right, can’t get the trip. Elbow from Imavov. 10-9 Imavov.
Round two: Shahbazyan opens with a low kick. Three-piece combo;. Imavov advancing, cracks him with a right hand around the guard. Shahbazyan puts him on the fence. Imavov wraps up a power guillotine, but elects to let it go when it fails to produce results. Another power guillotine to counter a takedown attempt and he wrenches Shahbazyan to his back in the process. Two minutes in. Shahbazyan spins to his knees, caught in a Marcelotine on the way up, nothing doing. Imavov ducks down for his own takedown attempt and gets caught in a guillotine himself, which he escapes to settle in guard. Two minutes to go.
Elbows from Imavov. One of them splits Imavov open above the right eye. Side control, snuffs out an attempt to stand. One minute to go. Crucifix for Imavov. Heavy elbows piling up and there’s the ref.

Ian Garry vs. Jordan Williams
Round one: Williams tries a low kick to start. Solid counter two-piece, another leg kick. Good combo by Williams, who’s finding the mark despite the reach disadvantage. One minute in. Another combo, frames as Garry tries to enter. Garry has yet to really throw anything. There’s a head kick attempt. Two minutes in. Williams continuing to pressure, looks for his own single-leg. Garry reverses, lands a knee to the body. Jockeying for position. Two minutes to go.
Garry knee, Williams left hand. Garry lands a knee to the head. Hard right hand on the exit. Sneaky head kick that Williams absorbs. One minute to go. Counter 1-2 by Williams. 2-1. Garry tries a head kick, eats a counter. Williams still pressuring, but suddenly walks into a vicious counter right. William’s legs give out and Garry drives home bombs until the lights follow suit.

Chris Barnett vs. Gian Villante
Round one: Villante body kicks, Barnett low kick. Two-piece from Barnett falls short. One minute in. Continuing to trade kicks. Barnett slips as Villante checks a kick. Two minutes in. Villante continuing to dig front kicks into Barnett’s belly. Barnett body kick. Both land low kicks. Good left hook from Villante with two minutes to go.
Both land left hands. Still focusing on the kicks. One minute to go. Barnett tries a combination, nothing doing. Low kick to spinning back kick. Villante puts him on the fence and lands knees in the final seconds. 10-9 Villante.
Round two: Low kick from Barnett to start. Tornado kick attempt, straight left, low kick. One minute in. Low kick from Villante, eats one in return. It’s still mostly a kicking fight but Barnett’s landing more of them this round. Two minutes in. Out of nowhere, Barnett suddenly unleashes a wheel kick that lands perfectly to the temple. Villante is somehow still conscious as he crumples to the ground, but Barnett swarms him with punches until the ref intervenes. Hell of a finish.

John Allan vs. Dustin Jacoby
Round one: Early low kicks from Jacoby. Allan tries one of his own, eats a straight left. Body kick met by a Jacoby right cross a minute in. Jacoby firing combinations. Body kick and low kick. Sharp jab by Jacoby as he eats a calf kick. Both men tearing up the other’s leg. Two minutes in. Continuing to land low kicks. Allan takes a finger in the eye but seems alright. Some heavy exchanges when they resume. Two minutes to go.
Body kick and jab land for Allan as Jacoby pushes forward with combos. Simultaneous kicks. Both attack the body. Lefts from Jacoby with a minute to go. He tries a head kick, lands a leg kick. Long string of jabs. Late right hand and he tries to spin. 10-9 Jacoby.
Round two: Jacoby working behind his jab as he pushes forward. Low kick from Allan answered in kind. Southpaw 1-2, eats another low kick. One minute in. Jacoby trying to get through and around Allan’s high guard. Allan low kicks. Long right cross lands for Jacoby, who avoids a combo but eats a left hand. Two minutes in. Body kicks from Jacoby. Both continuing to land leg kicks. Jab from Jacoby, right cross. Two minutes to go.

Ode Osbourne vs. C.J. Vergara
Round one: Osbourne southpaw, Vergara orthodox. Straight lefts landing for Osbourne, who tries a flying knee. Low kick from Vergara, left hook upstairs met by a counter left. One minute in. Osbourne counter jab. Straight left, 1-2. Feinted level change, combination attempt. Body kicks. Really outworking Vergara so far. Left hook lands for Vergara and both connect two minutes in. Round two: Early trade in the center. Prodding at range, both land hooks. Vergara low kick. Osbourne tries a reactive shot, can’t land it. Straight left lands, Vergara comes back to the body a minute in. Check hook from Osbourne. Heavy counter left lands for Osbourne as Vergara tries to pressure. Counter 3-2. Vergara low kick; Osbourne hasn’t checked them yet. Body kick for Osbourne, counter right. Two minutes in. Good exchange, Vergara cracks him with a left hook. Osbourne counter left, eats another knee, lands a right hook on the break. Trading two minutes in. Hard Vergara knee. More knees, denies a takedown and settles on top in guard. Short elbow with two minutes to go.
