Heavyweight icon, Fedor Emelianenko (31-4, 1NC) will fight in his homeland of Russia sometime this fall according to manager, and M-1 Global President, Vadim Finkelstein.

A report from M-1Global.com, from Finkelstein, has the former No. 1 heavyweight agreeing to a bout in late fall against an unnamed opponent at an unnamed event, not vague at all.

“Fedor is going to fight in late fall in Russia, we have already reached all the necessary agreements on his fight”

Date, place and opponent will be announced soon.

This will be Fedor’s first pro-fight in Russia since April of 2007, where he earned a first round submission win over Matt Lindland at a BodogFight: Clash of Nations event.

The Russian has run into some hard times, suffering three straight losses which has seen him released by the Strikeforce promotion.

The first defeat in that streak was to Fabricio Werdum via triangle choke in June of 2010, then to Antonio ‘Bigfoot’ Silva in February of this year via second round TKO (Doctor Stoppage) in the Strikeforce Heavyweight Grand Prix Quarterfinals, and finally a first round TKO loss to Dan Henderson in July.
