It’s that time of the season again, when one of the greatest professional boxers in the history of the sport continues to enjoy his retirement by racking up exhibition wins against anyone with 12-ounce gloves and a way to sell pay-per-view (PPV) units. That’s right, Floyd “Money” Mayweather Jr. returns to unsanctioned exhibition action tonight (Sun., Nov. 13, 2022) live from inside Coca-Cola Center in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, taking on British YouTuber, Deji (real name Oladeji Olatunji).

Deji and his brother, KSI, have been staples in the celebrity boxing scene since it picked up steam in the past few years. Deji lost his first three amateur fights against, Jake Paul, as well as Vinnie Hacker and Alex Wassabi before turning professional and earning his first win against fellow YouTube content creator, Yousef “Fousey” Saleh Erakat, via technical knockout earlier this year. Mayweather, as nearly everyone knows, is undefeated (50-0) in professional boxing and hasn’t tasted defeat in his exhibition schedule, either, racking up four wins against Tenshin Nasukawa, Logan Paul, Don Moore and Mikuru Asakura.

The undercard is highlighted by perhaps the only other name most people would recognize, Heavyweight boxing champion Tyson Fury’s younger half-brother, Tommy Fury. He will take on last-minute replacement, Rolly Lambert, who is billed as current WBC and WBA Asia champion.

Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs. Deji Play-By-Play Updates:

160 lbs.: Floyd Mayweather vs. Deji

Round 1: We are fiiiiinally getting underway after an hour of (allegedly) waiting for Floyd to do whatever he feels like. Floyd in red, Deji in purple. Mayweather with his hands down at his side. Deji with a jab to the body. That gets Floyd running with the “oh, I can do that, too” and he pops Deji with three body jabs. Hey, Deji got another body jab in, too. Floyd with a nice right and left and whatever he wants.

10-9 Mayweather

Round 2: Floyd only using his left hand for a bit as he waives his right hand to the crowd. Floyd popping and hitting nice light shots whenever he wants. Deji actually hits a right as he escapes out of the corner. Mayweather speed-bagging Deji up against the ropes.

10-9 Mayweather

Round 3: This is a nice, light bit of exercise for Mayweather as he does some mitt work with his cornerman in between rounds. Deji hits a couple punches and that gets a big grin from Floyd. Hilarious winging uppercut from Floyd lands. Good 70% right hand from Floyd touches the chin and it looks like that gave Deji a black eye.

10-9 Mayweather

Round 4: Deji dodges a left and lands one of his own. Deji gets in a right and that looks like that annoyed Mayweather a bit. He’s going high with the left and low with the right. Couple of them look like they’re below the belt. Now the ref steps in after another low one and warns Floyd. Deji’s corner is barking at Floyd and that gets him angry, who yells back that he’s FLOYD MAYWEATHER AND I CAN DO WHAT I WANT.

10-9 Mayweather

Round 5: Floyd slapping and poking at Deji’s hands. He’s slinging punches whenever he wants and clowning when he doesn’t want to swing. Not a whole lot of solid punches from Floyd as he continues to play with his food, but he’s winning, obviously.

10-9 Mayweather

Round 6: Deji did pushups in between the rounds and that seemed to irk Mayweather. Floyd is coming out hitting harder now, and surprisingly so is Deji. He’s not just a slab of meat for Floyd to pound on, he lands a nice uppercut to get out of the corner, but he can’t keep Floyd off him. Floyd landing really solid now. He’s swinging harder. Deji gets a nice jab. Floyd with a huge right that stumbles Deji a bit. Floyd follows him into the corner and puts him away as the ref steps in to end it.

FINAL RESULT: Floyd Mayweather, Jr. defeats Deji Olatunji via TKO

175 lbs.: Tommy Fury vs. Rolly Lambert

Round 1: Jake Paul here as a surprise on commentary. Fury in white, Lambert in black. Jake mentally not in shape to commentate and drops an F-bomb, has to fix his language. Looking at the action, there’s not much to talk about. A couple of jabs for Fury. Hard to really call this round, there’s not a lot of connections from either man in these two-minute rounds.

10-9 Fury

Round 2: Lambert lands a couple of jabs here. I have to mute this commentary from Paul because it’s honestly distracting to the little action that’s happening in the ring. Lambert on the front foot a bit here, just misses a straight right. Fury circling out of danger.

10-9 Lambert

Round 3: Fury coming forward now, trying to land his left. Both men seem to perpetually be circling clockwise into the other man’s power hand, but nothing bad has come of it so far. There’s a quick right from Fury. Fury showboating a bit, switching stances. Left from Lambert, right from Fury.

10-9 Fury

Round 4: Staccato flurry from Fury (I was hoping I’d get to say that). Hits mostly glove, but he’s pressing the action at least. I’m not super well-versed in either man’s career, so I don’t know if neither of them have zero power, but this looks like a glorified sparring session. Nice jab from Lambert. Lambert increasingly frustrated every time Fury circles out. I dunno, learn to cut the ring off? Triple jab attempt from Lambert who misses them all. Can’t fault Fury for employing good head movement.

10-9 Fury

Round 5: Lambert seems to have realized that the only punch he can land on a backpedaling Fury is his jab, so he’s going to it often. Actually landing a few. Not a whole lot landing when Fury does plant and throw.

10-9 Lambert

Round 6: Right to the body for Fury as Lambert tries upstairs. Lambert lands a jab high and low. Fury with a lead left that looks like it got around the guard of Lambert. Punch and clutch as the time runs out.

10-9 Fury

Old man John Fury in the ring taking his shirt off flexing on Jake Paul.

FINAL RESULT: Tommy Fury by decision (scores not read).
