Boxing’s biggest night of 2023 is here, as undefeated knockout artists and social media sensations Gervonta “Tank” Davis and Ryan “Kingry” Garcia are set to square off this evening (Sat., April 22, 2023) in the hallowed halls of T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
MMAmania.com will deliver LIVE coverage of the 136-pound Davis vs. Garcia pay-per-view (PPV) main event below. The PPV main card broadcast kicks off on DAZN/Showtime PPV at 8 p.m. ET, while Davis and Garcia will likely make their ring walks around 11 p.m. ET.
Davis and Garcia have firmly established themselves as two of the sport’s most prominent and entertaining fighters. Eighteen of Davis’ last 19 victories have come inside the distance, a run that’s seen him win titles at 130, 135 and 140 pounds, while Garcia stopped Olympic gold medalist, Luke Campbell, for interim Lightweight gold before moving up to 140 pounds.
No hardware will be on the line in tonight’s 136-pound Catchweight bout … just bragging rights.

Tank Vs. Garcia Round-By-Round Updates:
Catchweight: Gervonta Davis vs. Ryan Garcia
Round one: Davis keeping his guard high as Garcia prods with his left hand. Continuing to send out the jab. Halfway through. No clean connections yet outside of the occasional Garcia jab. Davis yet to let his hands go. Basically just tentative sparring so far. Davis falls short with a body shot. 10-9 Garcia.
Round two: Garcia steadily advancing behind the jab, tries to flurry on the ropes. Davis trying to tie up as Garcia swings punches wherever he can. Clinch from Davis, both men chided. Garcia continuing to pressure. Halfway through. Davis clinches when Garcia tries to open up further. Garcia really letting his hands go, but just as he seems to be fully in the groove, he eats a massive counter left that puts him on the canvas. It’s a hard knockdown, but he’s up surprisingly quickly and right back to sending out the jab. Nice check hook. Davis being patient, not trying to force the finish as Garcia plods after him. 10-8, 19-18 Davis.
Round three: Garcia continuing to stalk Davis around the ring. Solid jabs. Quick counter left lands for Davis as he’s backed to the corner. 1-2 goes high, clinch. Halfway through. Things slow down, Davis trying to measure with the lead hand. Solid jab, 1-2. Garcia whiffs on a couple of big check hooks. 2-3 by Garcia before circling off. 10-9, 29-27 Davis.
Round four: Garcia still trying to stay on the front foot. Left hook to the body met by a body shot from Davis. Jab exchange. Solid jabs from Garcia, 1-1-2 to the body from Davis. Looping right hook lands for Garcia halfway through. More body shots from Davis, followed by a jab upstairs. Davis really finding a home for that left hand downstairs. Garcia much more tentative, largely content with the jab. He tries to pressure and Davis ties him up before the bell. 10-9, 39-36 Davis.
Round five: Continuing at the slow pace. Davis with some more body work, then a quick counter left upstairs. Garcia’s completely gunshy at this point. Halfway through. Davis continues to rip the body with nothing coming back at him. Clinch. There’s an increasingly rare clean jab from Garcia, who falls short with a left hook. 10-9, 49-45 Davis.
Round six: Davis continues to cruise, but Garcia puts together his best combo in a while against the ropes. He doesn’t press the advantage and things soon fall back into a more sedate pace, Davis potshotting to the body where he can. Jabs from Garcia, tries to follow with a straight left. Solid exchange in the center. More body work by Davis. Garcia goes high-low with his own combo. Clinch. Garcia’s best round in a while, though I don’t think I’d score it for him. 10-9, 59-54 Davis.
Round seven: Hard 1-2 from Garcia, who tries to open up in teh corner before Davis ties him up. Davis looking to back him off with quick straight shots. Left to the body. Upstairs. 2-3 dings Davis near the ropes. Garcia seems like he might be clawing his way back in, but as I type that, Davis rips him with a left to the body. Garcia backs off, then falls to a knee, where he stays for the full 10-count.
Final result: Davis def. Garcia by KO — WATCH HIGHLIGHTS!
