With a prospective welterweight bout between Paul ‘Semtex’ Daley (28-11-2) and Nate Marquardt a real possibility for the upcoming BAMMA 8 card, word comes from Daley himself that he will not be participating at the December event.
Daley posted a notice on his Facebook page letting all of his fans know that his management and BAMMA were unable to book the fight.
“Just thought I’d let my supporters out there know, that I will 100% NOT be fighting on BAMMA 8 now. BAMMA and my management tired hard to make the fight happen, but some things were beyond their control.”
Marquardt is already booked to in the main event to crown the first BAMMA welterweight champ. Many fans and media had thought that Daley would be the likely candidate to oppose ‘The Great’ at the UK Event. With ‘Semtex’s’ Facebook post, the British based promotion will have to find another worthy opponent.
BAMMA 8 is scheduled to take place on December 10 at the Capital FM Arena in Nottingham, England.
Daley is scheduled to fight in Montral, Quebec, Canada on October 21 in the main event of a Ringside MMA 12 event against former UFC vet Luigi Fioravanti.
