An arm injury to former UFC fighter Pedro ‘The Rock’ Rizzo (19-9) has forced the heavyweight to withdraw from an upcoming bout with Tim Sylvia. The two had been scheduled to appear at the upcoming ProElite 2 event in November, but Rizzo posted a message on Twitter on Monday announcing his withdrawal.

Via Twitter (@pedrorizzo1) Rizzo posted “Unfortunately I got injured, training here in Holland, had a partial tear in the triceps’ tendon of my left arm. So i would like to apologize to the Pro Elite and specially to Tim Sylvia because i can’t be in the ring on November 5th to face him. I think i am in the prime of my condition and i’m really very frustrated with what happened. I hope to recover as quickly as possible to get back! Because my happiness is still in the ring! OSSs!”

Replacing him, according to MMAFighting.com, will be German fighter Andreas ‘Big Daddy’ Kraniotakes (12-4), who comes into the fight with twelve straight finishes, eight by (T)KO and four by submission.

The ProElite 2 event is scheduled to take place on November 5 at the iWireless Center in Moline, Ill. The event will also feature an eight man heavyweight tournament, as well as feature another heavyweight bout between Andrei Arlovski vs. Travis Fulton.
