Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) returns to VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena in “The Sunshine State” for the UFC Jacksonville mixed martial arts (MMA) event TODAY (Sat., June 24, 2023), streaming LIVE on ABC, ESPN and ESPN+. UFC Jacksonville — also known as UFC on ABC 5 —will be headlined by the 145-pound showdown between Top 10 featherweight contenders Josh Emmett and Ilia Topuria. Before that five-round clash of styles gets underway, Dana White’s “Contender Series” standout Maycee Barber collides with battle-tested Brazilian bruiser Amanda Ribas in the UFC Jacksonville co-main event.

Hard counter right from Topuria a minute in. Big exchanges, neither landing clean. There’s a right hand from Topuria as both wing heavy shots. Two minutes in. Topuria to the body against the fence. 2-3 by Emmett, jabs from Topuria in return. Emmett falls short with a flurry. Topuria managing range well and keeping his guard up with two minutes to go.

Both launch combos, neither connects. Solid low kicks by Topuria. Emmett tries a head kick, Topuria tries a counter right. One minute to go. Emmett low kick, overhand right falls short. Counter hook, low kick. Topuria tries a two-piece. 10-9 Topuria.

Round 2: Emmett sending out some big right hands, still struggling to land them clean. One minute in. Emmett falling short with combos. Counter two-piece by Topuria to answer a low kick. Emmett goes low-high with a volley. Counter hook. Low kick from Topuria two minutes in, then a lead right behind it. Low kick and left hook land for Emmett, who’s still not the most accurate but is outworking Topuria this round. Two minutes to go.

Topuria pressuring, lands a low kick. Four-piece combo. The next volley drops Emmett and now Topuria opens up against the fence. Emmett knocks him off-balance, can’t capitalize before Topuria pops up and gets back on the attack. One minute to go. Low kick from Topuria. Both wing right hands. Hard counter right hurts Emmett and Topuria swarms, but can’t polish him off. 10-9 Topuria.

Round 3: Emmett comes out swinging, gets stung by a low kick. He’s got some damage around his left eye. Head kick attempt blocked. Solid low kicks. One minute in. Topuria keeping the pressure on, lands a low kick and counters one from Emmett to kick off an exchange. Stiff jabs. Heavy right hand from Topuria prompts Emmett to exchange and both land hard shots. The battle continues two minutes in, Topuria keeping Emmett stuck near the fence as they trade heat. Back-and-forth action. Emmett’s left eye is a wreck with two minutes to go.

Topuria keeping on the pressure, finding the mark with right hands and left hooks. Heavy low kick. Stiff jab. One minute to go. Four-piece combo by Topuria. Emmett’s still game but he’s getting chewed up. Quick counter right from him to answer a series of jabs. 10-9 Topuria.

Round 4: Topuria staying patient, avoids a blitz. More jabs landing for him. One minute in. Heavy low kick briefly knocks Emmett over. Body shot from Emmett two minutes in. Another hard low kick lands for Topuria, who continues to work behind the jab. Emmett lands some lefts to the body. Counter combo from Topuria with two minutes to go.

Low kick, jab, counter right land for Topuria in sequence. They trade near the fence and a left hook sends Emmett to the mat for the second time. TOpuria follows him down with heavy punches. Punishing Emmett on the way up with a minute to go. Emmett still trying to fire back, eats a huge uppercut and a counter right that drops him again. Full mount for Topuria, bombing away. He takes the back in the final seconds. 10-8 Topuria.

Round 5: Emmett comes out swinging, but he just can’t find the mark. Low kicks and stiff jabs from Topuria. Emmett low kick a minute in. Topuria jab, Emmett overhand left. More jabs from Topuria as Emmett loads up on big swings. Two minutes in. Low-high 3-2 by Emmett. Topuria lands a counter right, then bullies Emmett to the mat with a double-leg into half guard. Emmett trying to stand, stuck on one knee with two minutes to go.

Topuria continuing to control via the body lock. Emmett makes it to his feet, gets dragged back down, and tries to scramble free. One minute to go. Topuria drags him to the mat once again. One hook in, dropping punches. 10-9 Topuria.

Final result: Topuria def. Emmett by unanimous decision


125 lbs.: Maycee Barber vs. Amanda Ribas

Round 1: Ribas catches a kick, can’t use it. Lots of pressure. Spinning back kick falls short. Low kick exchange. One minute in. Solid right hand by Barber as Ribas continues to advance. 1-2 from Ribas, then a counter right. 1-2 again, keeping Barber near the fence. They trade right hands, Barber follows with a 1-2. Ribas ties up two minutes in. Short elbows by Barber. Ribas hits a head-and-arm throw, then spins into guard. Barber quickly gets to her feet, Ribas still attached. Two minutes to go.

They separate soon after. Those elbows busted up RIbas’ nose. Combinations by Barber. Ribas rolls for a kneebar, eating punches. Barber figure-fours her legs to protect her knee, continuing to land punches. Brutal ground-and-pound. 10-9 Barber.

Round 2:Front kick from Barber. Counter 2-1 comes back at her. Ribas low kick. Barber shoots, fires an elbow, eats a left hand. Now Barber’s sporting a bloody nose as well. One minute in. 1-2 by Barber. Elbow inside. Good boxing exchanges. Barber shoots, falls victim to the head-and-arm throw again. Ribas on top in guard. Two minutes in. Barber scoots to the fence and stands, looking for elbows. Two minutes to go.

Barber fires a head kick, gets knocked over by a right hand, and trades on the fence. Big head kick and right hand from Barber. Another right hand and Ribas is hurt bad. Ribas with a desperation shot and Barber swarms her with punches and elbows for the finish.

Final result: Barber def. Ribas by TKO (punches and elbows)


265 lbs.: Austen Lane vs. Justin Tafa

Round 1: Tafa pushing forward, Lane keeping him at bay with the jab. Nice body kicks from Lane. The next time Tafa steps in, Lane digs his finger in Tafa’s eye while trying to push him away. It’s a nasty poke and Tafa can’t see at all. It continues to swell up during the recovery period and they wave off the fight.

Final result: No contest (eye poke)


145 lbs.: David Onama vs. Gabriel Santos

Round 1: Good two-piece from Santos catches Onama throwing. Santos super aggressive early as they trade punches. Good entry on a double-leg, wild reversal by Onama to land on top in guard. One minute in. Santos kicks him off and stands, trading punches along the way. Both land solid right hands. Trading shots in center cage. Solid counter right by Santos two minutes in as he pressures. Low kicks, straight left, body kick. Heavy counter left stings Onama, though Santos misses on the follow-up spinning back kick. Body shot by Santos and his pressure forces Onama to shoot. Great armbar transition, nice defense from Onama to land on top in guard with two minutes to go.

Another armbar attempt, no luck. Another attempt into a triangle, still can’t get it but uses it to stand. Knee from Onama. Body shots from Santos. Onama comes back with good knees and right hands with a minute to go. Awkward sequence where Santos nearly gives up his back, then takes Onama down into guard. Onama gets to his feet and tries to blitz in the waning seconds. 10-9 Santos.

Round 2: Santos stings Onama with a spinning back fist and swarms with punches. After eating a couple decent counters, he shoots and quickly transitions to Onama’s back, locking up the body triangle. One minute in. Onama manages to spin into guard, then posture out of a triangle and drop a right hand. Hard elbows. Two minutes in. Santos tries to get space to stand and Onama just straight-up tackles him back down. Santos scoots to the fence, stands, and separates with a good right hand. Hard body kick and low kick behind it. Two minutes to go.

Santos slowly advancing, switching stance as he does. Spinning back kick attempt. Counter right met by a combo from Onama. Solid elbows by Onama with a minute to go. Santos continues to try to force his way inside and Onama meets him with a gnarly uppercut, crumpling him to the mat and allowing Onama to blast him with a couple more nasty right hands before the ref intervenes.

Final result: Onama def. Santos by KO (punches)


185 lbs.: Brendan Allen vs. Bruno Silva

Round 1: Allen active early, shoots 50 seconds in, no dice. He ties up, fires knees in the clinch, and takes Silva to the fence. Nice elbow. Two minutes in. Short clinch strikes from Allen. Hard shots from Silva on the break. He denies a shot and unloads with some heavy shots, but gets knocked back by a counter. Silva back on the attack, gets blasted by a left hook but manages to sprawl on Allen’s shots. Trading heat with two minutes to go.

Nice body kick from Allen. Big left hand from Silva as he chases Allen across the cage with punches. Heavy uppercut from Silva, but Allen catches him behind the ear with a right hand and floors him with the follow-up. Allen follows him down into guard, dropping punches. Good pass to side control. He’s looking for the RNC, and as Silva tries to scramble, Allen latches on and slips in the hooks to draw a quick tap.

Final result: Allen def. Silva by submission (rear naked choke)


170 lbs.: Neil Magny vs. Phil Rowe

Round 1: Rowe quickly puts Magny on the fence. One minute in. Magny reverses with a body lock. Ref wants more action. Elbow from Magny two minutes in. Looking for the trip, can’t get it. Rowe reverses on the fence. Magny reverses. Two minutes to go.

Rowe reverses. They separate. Solid 1-2 from Rowe, looking to open up on the fence. Rowe low kick, Magny blitz. One minute to go. Lead hook from Rowe. Magny tries to blitz, puts him on the fence. They trade elbows before the bell. 10-9 Rowe.

Round 2: Rowe backs Magny up with some big attacks, then hits a trip before jumping on his back. Standing body triangle. One minute in. Magny fighting the hands well. Two minutes in. Magny slowly peeling him off, gives up an inside trip, pops back up. Pressing Rowe against the side of the fence. Jockeying for position with two minutes to go.

Magny keeping him against the cage, looks to strike on the break before tying up again. One minute to go. Magny continuing to grind. Rowe separates with 20 on the clock. Solid knees from Magny. 10-9 Magny? Did a little more damage. Not much.

Round 3: Both men open with kicks. Magny punches his way inside, landing some decent right hands. One minute in. Battling for position in the clinch. Jab exchange. Magny goes back into the clinch, landing some dirty boxing. Rowe puts him on the fence two minutes in. Rowe tries to change levels, nothing doing. Magny lands some short shots on the exit. Two minutes to go.

Magny grabs a body lock, considers the front headlock, lands knees and a jab.Short punches from Rowe. Magny puts him on the fence and looks for a takedown with a minute to go. They separate. Rowe fires a 1-2. Magny ties up and puts him on the fence. Short shots. They trade at the bell. 10-9 Magny.

Final result: Magny def. Rowe by split decision


170 lbs.: Randy Brown vs. Wellington Turman

Round 1: Brown fighting behind the jab, knocks Turman off-balance with a straight right. Low kicks from Turman as Brown comes on aggressively. More jabs from Brown. One minute in. Turman falls short with a two-piece, lands a leg kick. Brown 1-1-2. Trading low kicks, overhand right from Turman. Turman really focusing on the calf kicks. Two minutes in. Brown, who’s been keeping his fingers extended all fight, thumbs Thurman in the eye. Turman takes a bit of time to recover. Brown looking to sharpshoot at range as Turman continues to attack the calf. Oblique kicks from Brown. Two minutes to go.

Brown tries a 1-2. He’s feeling the low kicks. Jumping knee to right hand. Turman puts him on the fence, gets reversed. Knee from Brown strays low. One minute to go. Oblique kicks from Brown. Crowd not feeling it. Head kick attempt, body and low kicks connect. Another low kick by Turman. Overhand right. More Turman low kicks. Brown lands a jumping knee to the body, then slams him down from the body lock. 10-9 Turman.

Round 2: Brown lands a low kick as Turman wings some heavy swings. Brown oblique kick, Turman low kicks. Turman puts him on the fence and grabs a body lock a minute in. Elbow from Turman, knee from Brown. Brown reverses and throws knees to the thigh. Two minutes in. More knees from Brown. Jockeying for position. Two minutes to go.

Brown keeping him stuck on the fence, landing knees. Turman reverses position. One minute to go. Brown reverses again, gets reversed again. Brown catches a knee for a takedown, then takes Turman’s back standing. Angle’s not great, but he holds on until the bell. 10-9 Brown.

Round 3: Turman advancing, lands a low kick. Jab exchange. Teeps by Brown. Turman punches into the clinch, can’t stay attached. Brown tries a flying knee to counter a spinning back fist, gets pressed against the fence. One minute in. They separate. Turman lands a body shot. Low kick. Two minutes in. Brown body kick, tries a straight left behind it. Dude’s fingers are fully extended. Turman ties up and puts him on the fence for a moment. Nice flurry from Brown, misses a knee afterwards. Turman puts him on the fence again, sneaky elbow. Two minutes to go.

Brown reverses and they jockey for position. Elbow from Turman, who tries a trip and settles for a knee. Another good elbow from Turman. They separate with a minute to go. Left hand by Brown. Turman tries a spinning back fist, lands a spinning back kick. Spinning back kick from Brown in return. Turman hauls him to the fence again. He tries a spinning elbow. Both try to spin. 10-9 Turman.

Final result: Brown def. Turman by unanimous decision


155 lbs.: Loik Radzhabov vs. Mateusz Rebecki

Round 1: Body kicks from Rebecki to start. Counter right by Radzhabov. Rebecki comes back with an overhand left and body shot. Nice inside low kicks. One minute in. Lots of pressure from Rebecki. Short right hand, then a counter elft behind it. Radzhabov pops him with a straight right, eats a left in return. There’s the first takedown attempt from Radzhabov, no dice two minutes in. Rebecki still pressuring, eats an uppercut after landing a body shot. Stiff jab upstairs, then a 1-2 into a double-leg. Low mount with two minutes to go.

Quick move to side control. Solid left hand on the way up, then a 1-2. Both swing hard with a minute to go. Rebecki finding the mark with jabs and power shots. He knocks Radzhabov over with an inside low kick and settles on top in side control. Looking for the crucifix, got it, loses it quickly. 10-9 Rebecki.

Round 2: Hard inside low kick compromises Radzhabov’s lead leg. He staggers back to the fence and Rebecki goes to work with power punches. Rebecki staying patient as Radzhabov looks for counters. Radzhabov staying on the fence, lands a two-piece a minute in. Hard left by Rebecki, then two crushing leg kicks to the opposite leg. Radzhabov cannot move properly at this point but he’s still trying to throw back. Another inside low kick by Rebecki. Two minutes in. Inside low kick, avoids the counter. Inside low kick from Rebecki, then a left hand that drops Radzhabov, sending the ref into action. Probably a bit early, but Radzhabov couldn’t move, so no complaints there.

Final result: Rebecki def. Radzhabov by TKO (leg kicks and punch)


115 lbs.: Tabatha Ricci vs. Gillian Robertson

Round 1: Robertson on the front foot to start as they trade short punches. She tries a single-leg, no dice. One minute in. Ricci doing slightly better on the feet so far. Ricci catches a low kick and takes her down into guard. Robertson sits up and stands shortly thereafter. Ricci low kick. Nice uppercut two minutes in. 1-2. She’s a lot busier than Robertson on the feet alongside the speed advantage. Robertson lands a body shot. Ricci again catches a kick for a takedown, then lets Robertson up with two minutes to go.

Quick combos from Ricci. Low kick and right hand. Robertson plodding after her but offering very little offense. One minute to go. Ricci changes levels, denied, but enjoying a lot of success piecing Robertson up. 10-9 Ricci.

Round 2: Robertson still slowly advancing but facing a huge disadvantage in speed, technique, and output on the feet. There’s a few decent punches from Robertson. She appears to consider a level change, but abandons it. One minute in. Fake shot to right hand by Ricci. Ricci continuing to run circles around her, not landing with power but landing a lot of volume. Two minutes in. Robertson body shot and right hand. Continuing to trade on the feet. Two minutes to go.

Ricci shoots, denied, catches a kick for a takedown. Robertson quickly stands. Ricci still outworking her. One minute to go. Both attack the body. Ricci shoots, denied. 10-9 Ricci.

Round 3: Ricci continuing to outwork Robertson, who’s showing no adjustments as the rounds progress. One minute in. Finally a takedown from Robertson. Ricci gets to her knees, stands, and separates with an elbow. She shoots, denied, lands a low kick. Two minutes in. Right hand by Robertson. She’s pushing her punches. Ricci moving well, landing volume. Counter right. Body kick. Two minutes to go.

Long flurry from Ricci, counter left by Robertson. Robertson low kick, RIcci jabs. Low-high two-piece from Robertson. Combos by Ricci with a minute to go. Robertson lands right hands. Ricci shoots, denied. Robertson tries a half-hearted shot, settles for a body shot. 10-9 Ricci.

125 lbs.: Joshua Van vs. Zhalgas Zhumagulov

Round 1: Zhumagulov opens with low kicks, one of which strays low. They trade lefts, body shot from Zhumagulov. Both land front kicks downstairs. Lots of pressure from Zhumagulov, good left hook. One minute in. Counter overhand. Zhumagulov the busier of the two so far, neither landing clean. Left hands from Van, sharp 1-1-2. Low kick from Zhumagulov in return two minutes in. Zhumagulov flashes volume, then hauls Van to the fence. Van separates and goes back to attacking the body. Zhumagulov body shot. Two minutes to go.

1-2 lands for Zhumagulov, then a quick flurry. Jabs upstairs. Nice two-piece into a takedown, but Van immediately pops up against the fence and lands a solid knee. Zhumagulov locks his hands again and returns him to the mat. With a minute to go. Again Van gets right back to his feet. They separate and get back to the rapid-fire exchanges. 10-9 Zhumagulov? Close round.

Round 2: Both land low kicks in the early going. Nice exchanges inside. One minute in. Heavy right cross by Van. Body kick from Zhumagulov in return. Trading jabs, cross counter by Van and a 1-2 behind it. Van starting to take control of the standup. Both attack the body. Van 1-2 two minutes in. Another heavy 1-2. Zhumagulov catches a front kick, can’t use it. Van catches Zhumagulov leaning with a head kick and swarms on the fence. Zhumagulov claims a low blow but the ref lets it continue as Van rains down punches. Zhumagulov manages to weather it and separate. Two minutes to go.

Both land low kicks. Van looks a lot fresher than Zhumagulov, who lands a low-high 1-2. Sharp punches by Zhumagulov. Big left hand just misses. One minute to go. Zhumagulov trying to pressure, lands a hard uppercut and left hook. Van comes back with a sharp jab but Zhumagulov seems to have some new life in him. Heavy exchange in the center. Trading heat. Spinning back fist lands for Zhumagulov. 10-9 Van.

Round 3: Zhumagulov with some wide swings to start the round. Van answers a low kick with jabs. Trading inside. One minute in. Zhumagulov with some body shots and a hard left hand behind them. Counters from Van, backing Zhumagulov up. Two minutes in. Van tries a lead elbow, clash of heads. Both land left hands. Back-and-forth in center cage. Hard shovel hook by Zhumagulov. Two minutes to go.

Van advancing, lands a solid body shot. Trading near the fence. Low kick and body kick land for him. Zhumagulov fakes a shot and lands a left hand. Van shoots, denied. One minute to go. Counter right by Van, then a counter left as Zhumagulov tries a two-piece. Low-high from Zhumagulov, who eats a jab and comes back with a left hook. Big right hand from Van as they trade, then a wheel kick that falls just short. Zhumagulov shoots, eats a knee and 1-2. Van looking sharp, picking Zhumagulov off with heavy shots in teh final seconds. 10-9 Van.

155 lbs.: Chepe Mariscal vs. Trevor Peek

Round 1: Peek on the front foot as usual. Swatting counter from Mariscal. Peek barrels in with haymakers, gets slung to the mat, and immediately pops back to his feet. Right back to clubbing each other. One minute in. Mariscal changes levels and puts him on the fence. Solid knee upstairs. Peek reverses. Jockeying for position. Big knee by Mariscal on the exit and both return to battering each other. Nice takedown by Mariscal two minutes in and he jumps on Peek’s back, locking in the RNC. Impressive defense by Peek, who eats some big punches on the way up. As they separate, Peek slams a right hand directly into Mariscal’s groin, prompting a pause. They resume at a distance. Body kicks from Peek. Two minutes to go.

Peek continuing to stalk. Big right hand, left hook from Mariscal in return to kick off another heavy exchange. Both land low kicks. Peek chases him down with a combo. He again backs Mariscal to the fence and hits him with some profoundly ugly punches. Mariscal roars back with big shots of his own and hits another judo throw, moving right to mount with a minute to go. Mariscal moves to the back and tries to transition to an armbar, but Peek slips free. Mariscal still on top in half guard. This rules. Mariscal stands over him and lets him up in the final seconds. 10-9 Mariscal.

Round 2: Low kick from Mariscal to start. Body kick behind it. Peek marching after him, lands a solid right hand before tying up. Jockeying for position. One minute in. Peek lands a knee and they trade elbows as Mariscal keeps him on the fence. Another takedown from Mariscal. On top in half guard. Two minutes in. Peek works to his feet, then lands some heavy body shots. Swatting back fist, body shot. Mariscal comes back with a left hook. Cut kick knocks Peek over and Mariscal follows him down, moving quickly to mount. Think Peek may be gassing. Mariscal takes the back, but Peek sweeps into top position with two minutes to go.

Mariscal trying to roll for a leg. Peek looking for the back now, ends up on the bottom in the scramble. He gets to his knees and works his way up with a minute to go. Mariscal changes levels once again. Nice knees and left hand. They trade in the final seconds. 10-9 Mariscal.

Round 3: Mariscal definitely looks a lot fresher than Peek. Low kick exchange. Clubbing hook from Peek, who overextends throwing a huge uppercut and allows Mariscal to tie up. One minute in. Spinning each other around in over-unders. Peek slips throwing a head kick and is slow to stand. Big counter shots by Mariscal. Two minutes to go.

Mariscal clowning, landing counters and taunting as a faded Peek lumbers after him. Big shots from Mariscal on the exit. Warned for grabbing the shorts. One minute to go. Peek wades after him with some huge swings. Clubbing hooks from Mariscal into an inside trip attempt. No luck, big knee and teep on the exit. Mariscal going for the finish, tries a takedown. Peek wings some bombs but can’t find the comeback. 10-9 Mariscal.

145 lbs.: Jamall Emmers vs. Jack Jenkins

Round 1: Emmers circling, firing kicks as Jenkins steadily advances. Solid low kicks from Jenkins in returns. Emmers shoots and they trade knees before separating. One minute in. Emmers very light on his feet, though neither man has taken control yet. Body jab, dart right hand. Jenkins continuing to advance, tries a series of left hands two minutes in. Emmers using his length to good effect with long punches and kicks. Body kick from Jenkins, body punch from Emmers, body kick from Jenkins. Two minutes to go.

Jenkins backs him up with a combo, then lands a hard calf kick. High-low 1-2 from Emmers. Sharp counter left and low kick land for Jenkins. One minute to go. Emmers to the body, follows with a low kick, eats a body kick. 1-2. They trade in center cage. Another big exchange that and this one sees Emmers land a low blow. 10-9 Emmers.

Round 2: Emmers is controlling the distance well, though Jenkins is still finding the mark at times. Hard low kick and left hook from Jenkins. Emmers keeping him at bay with linear kicks. One minute in. Body kick from Jenkins, Emmers answers with a right downstairs. Hard 3-2 from Emmers met by some calf kicks. Two minutes in. Emmers fakes a shot, lands a 1-2. Continuing to control the range, good right hand. Jenkins comes back with low kicks. Low kick by Emmers in return, tries to go high behind it. Two minutes to go.

Left hook by Emmers, jab exchange. Combos by Emmers, low kick by Jenkins. Good body shots from Emmers and again Jenkins slams home a leg kick in return. The length and output of Emmers are controlling the standup. One minute to go. Hard left hand by Emmers. Body kicks from Jenkins. Emmers 1-2 in center cage. Jenkins answers with a body kick, then takes Emmers down and jumps on his back. Emmers turns into top position before the bell. 10-9 Emmers.

Round 3: Trading hands to start the round, then Emmers switches it up with a takedown into guard. One minute in. Jenkins playing defense off his back, Emmers not throwing much. Emmers looking for the back as Jenkins works to stand. Jenkins surrenders guard again when Emmers threatens an RNC. Two minutes in. Jenkins gets an underhook, stuck on one knee against the fence. Elbow from Emmers on the way up. Both land left hands with two minutes to go.

Emmers changes levels and tries a head-and-arm throw, but ends up on the bottom in half guard. Quick sweep by Emmers into top guard. One minute to go. Jenkins tries to toss up his legs for a triangle, no dice. Both men throw strikes in the waning seconds. 10-9 Emmers.

Final result: Jenkins def. Emmers by split decision


185 lbs.: Sedriques Dumas vs. Cody Brundage

Round 1: Brundage bulldozes Dumas to the mat inside of 10 seconds, then hauls him to the fence and tries to jump on a guillotine. Dumas slips out and settles on top in guard. One minute in. Brundage holding on from the bottom as Dumas chips away with short punches. Not too much happening; Brundage is content to try and keep Dumas from posturing and Dumas is content to just land short punches and elbows. Two minutes in. Ref wants more action. Two minutes to go.

Now Brundage brings up his legs, nothing there. Dumas passes to side control and looks to rush to mount, allowing Brundage to turn to his knees and score a takedown with a minute to go. Brundage jumps on the guillotine again and again Dumas pops his head out to land on top in guard. Big elbows from Dumas. 10-9 Dumas.

Round 2: Much slower start, both men flicking out kicks. One minute in. Brundage falls short with an overhand right. He shoots, gets sprawled on. Dumas quickly takes Brundage’s back. Both hooks in. Two minutes in. Brundage holding onto a two-on-one grip, but not doing anything to actually escape the position. Two minutes to go.

Dumas looking for the RNC, can’t get the angle. Brundage turns to grab a single leg, but again he seems to freeze when the takedown isn’t there. One minute to go. Dumas Looks for the back again, then tries the RNC. The angle’s not there, so he lands a few elbows instead. One more try at the choke. 10-9 Dumas.

Round 3: Overhand right from Brundage to start, then another level change. He completes this one a minute in, settling in half guard. Threatening the guillotine as Dumas stands. He jumps on it again and again Dumas pulls his head out two minutes in. Brundage appears to have once again given up in guard. Two minutes to go.

Dumas again just chilling on top in guard. One minute to go. Fight ends there. All-time bad performance from Brundage. 10-9 Dumas.

Final result: Dumas def. Brundage by unanimous decision
