UFC Singapore live stream results and play-by-play updates: Featherweight veterans “Blessed” Max Holloway and “The Korean Zombie,” Chan Sung Jung, are leading the charge for the promotion’s return to Singapore, by way of Singapore Indoor Stadium on ESPN+ today (Sat., Aug. 26, 2023), a 13-fight MMA card that also features the light heavyweight co-main event rematch between bitter 205-pound rivals (and Top 10 title hopefuls) Anthony Smith and Ryan Spann. Holloway again goes low-high. 1-2 downstairs. 2-1 by Jung knocks Holloway back. Check hook dings Jung and Holloway follows with a straight right and body kick. Hard 1-2 downstairs and he denies a takedown with a minute to go. The right to the body is working for Holloway. Slick shifting right hook lands for Jung. Holloway body shot. Jung tries to charge in at the bell. 10-9 Holloway.
Round 2: Lead hook finds the mark for Jung. Holloway goes low-high with 1-2s and the second one crumples Jung. Holloway doesn’t want to follow up, so after a moment, he latches onto an ultra-deep anaconda choke. One minute in. Jung somehow manages to survive and work his way to his feet. They separate. Jung swinging heat him. Combos from Holloway, who shoves out of a clinch two minutes in. Body shot, sneaky left hook. Left hook from Jung in return. Long straight right by Holloway, Jung punches free of the fence. Two minutes to go.

Round 3: Jung comes out with venom, throwing everything he’s got to try and overwhelm Holloway. It’s a valiant but doomed effort, as Holloway steps back and detonates a beautiful counter right flush on his chin. Jung flops to the mat in a heap, having gone out on his shield the way we knew he would.

205 lbs.: Anthony Smith vs. Ryan Spann
Round 1: Low kick lands for Smith. Check hook. He tries a big 1-2 and Spann ties up, avoiding a throw before separating. Clean lefts from Smith against the fence a minute in. Both land heavy rights. Smith low kick trips Spann up for a moment. Teep lands for him. Hard leg kick two minutes in, then a cut kick and a pair of heavy rights as Spann pops back to his feet. Spann counters a low kick with a clean straight right. He looks to open up but leaves himself open for Smith to take him down with two minutes to go.
Smith on top in half guard. Spann explodes to his feet as Smith takes mount and they quickly separate. One minute to go. Spann 2-3 blocked. Things slow considerably in the latter half of the last minute. Hard calf kicks bother Spann. 10-9 Smith.
Round 2: Smith whiffs on a long 1-2 and Spann cracks him with a pair of heavy hooks that visibly hurt him. Smith manages to tie him up on the ground after absorbing a flying knee, and when Spann stands and gives Smith an opening to do the same, Smith doesn’t take it. Spann jumps on him and lands some more heavy punches. One minute in. Hard ground-and-pound from Spann. He elects to separate and let Smith up two minutes in. Smith’s left eye looks nearly shut. Calf kicks from Smith. Two minutes to go.
Calf kick and jab. Spann weirdly reticent to push the issue. Good left hand by Smith, combo by Spann in return. Long Spann cross, Smith calf kick with a minute to go. Glancing overhand from Spann. 3-2 lands for Smith. Big counter right, his best shot in a while. 10-9 Spann.
Round 3: Smith’s eye is holding up better than it seemed like it would. Looking for combos, back to the calf kick. Counter right by Spann, Smith body shot. One minute in. Nice Smith body shot, then a counter jab after avoiding a combo. Spann right hand, Smith low kick. Moderate pace at the moment, both men staying at mid range and looking for combos. Two minutes in. Trading jabs, Smith low kick. Hard right cross. Cross counter from Spann soon after. Two minutes to go.

Round 1: Caceres comes out in a bladed stance, tossing out side kicks and straight punches. Chikadze body kick. Low-high goes Caceres. One minute in. Good 1-2 by Caceres. Spinning back fist appears to land clean. Chikadze tries a head kick, eats a low kick. Two minutes in. Overhand right from Chikadze. Caceres feints into a right hook. Uppercut-cross. Chikadze low kick. Two minutes to go.
Caceres actually getting the better of the standup so far. Chikadze tries a head kick, blocked. 1-2. Low kick to body kick. One minute to go. Nice overhand right. Left hand falls short. Caceres to the body, eats a jab in the process. Caceres hasn’t done much in the last couple minutes. Chikadze dings him with a straight right. Edging it out to Chikadze on late work. 10-9 Chikadze.

135 lbs.: Fernie Garcia vs. Rinya Nakamura
Round 1: Nakamura on the front foot to start. Solid body and low kicks. Lots of feints. He shoots a minute in and drags Garcia to his seat against the fence. Garcia makes it to his feet, but gets wrenched back down into half guard closer to the center. Side control for Nakamura, then north-south. Two minutes to go.
Nakamura going for the north-south choke. No dice, abandons it with a minute to go. Elbow lands for him. He unloads in the final seconds. 10-9 Nakamura.
Round 2: Body kick by Nakamura. Another one, heavier. Inside low kick. One minute in. Nakamura slips throwing a head kick, then trips him up with an inside low kick. Garcia body kick. Nakamura tries a three-piece. Double jab. Right hook to inside low kick two minutes in. Nice counter left by Garcia. Powerful double-leg puts Nakamura on top. Garcia goes for a guillotine, but Nakamura hops into side control before going back to north-south. Two minutes to go.
Strong top control by Nakamura. He considers an americana with a minute to go, can’t get it. Crucifix elbows, then a straight armbar attempt. Still can’t finish. 10-9 Nakamura.
Round 3: Nakamura whiffs on an overhand left. Solid body kick. Inside low kick. One minute in. 1-2 from Garcia, then another straight right. Both try head kicks. Looping right by Garcia. Nakamura times another shot to catch Garcia off-balance and take him down into half guard. Right to side control two minutes in. Nakamura considers an arm triangle, looks for the back with two minutes to go.
Back to side control, landing elbows. Garcia turns and Nakamura considers the RNC, then makes a slick armbar transition. Solid defense by Garcia with a minute to go. Garcia works his way to his feet, then tries to unload on the break. Nakamura blasts him with a head kick and counter left, then a couple more clean lefts. 10-9 Nakamura.

125 lbs.: Erin Blanchfield vs. Taila Santos
Round 1: They trade low kicks to start. Counter three-piece from Santos. 1-2. Jab-low kick. Counter two-piece again, then some underhooks to deny a shot. Good counter right but Santos is getting a bit wild a minute in. Another counter right. Low kick, left hand on the way up. Blanchfield struggling to get any offense going. There’s a 1-2 from her. Blanchfield shoots, denied, lands well against the fence before re-engaging two minutes in. Keeping Santos against the fence. Santos lands on the break. Blanchfield shoots again, denied again. Two minutes to go.
Intercepting knee from Santos. Blanchfield punches into the clinch and looks for an inside trip, but Santos defends well. Santos counter right. Blanchfield continues to try and pressure. One minute to go. Good jab by Blanchfield, who eats a clubbing right before tying up. Jockeying for position against the fence. 10-9 Santos.
Round 2: Blanchfield keeping up the pressure. Stiff jab met by a low kick from Santos. Counter low kick as Blanchfield wades in. Santos denies the first shot, then the second. Blanchfield keeping her against the fence. Two minutes in. Santos reverses and looks for a takedown, but ends up pulling Blanchfield on top of her and landing in guard. Two minutes to go.
Half guard for Blanchfield, looking for side control. Santos turns to her knees and Blanchfield tries to take the back. Santos works her way up with a minute to go. They separate with 11 seconds to go. Blanchfield shoots back in and they trade knees until the bell. 10-9 Blanchfield.
Round 3: Aggressive start from Blanchfield. She shoots, denied, eats an elbow on the exit. Both women swinging, neither landing clean. One minute in. Blanchfield eats a leg kick and hauls her to the fence. She separates, then shoots right back in. Good defense from Santos two minutes in. Blanchfield elbow on the exit. They trade for a moment, then Blanchfield shoots back in. They separate with two minutes to go.
Blanchfield putting together some solid volume and Santos seems to be fading. Blanchfield shoots in again. She separates, lands a couple shots, then shoots again. One minute to go. They separate and get to slugging. Blanchfield racking up damage, lands a nasty chopping right and threatens the neck. 10-9 Blanchfield.

265 lbs.: Parker Porter vs. Junior Tafa
Round 1: Quick jab from Tafa. Counter right, front kick just misses. Another good counter right, then a knee that hurts Porter. Porter eats another big right hand, then changes levels and hauls Tafa to the fence. One minute in. Big elbow from Tafa on the break, then a heavy right hand, Another one as Porter tries to fire back that sends him pitching to the mat and Tafa walks off; Porter’s still awake, but accepts the defeat with grace.
Final result: Tafa def. Porter by TKO (punches) — HIGHLIGHTS!
265 lbs.: Lukasz Brzeski vs. Waldo Cortes-Acosta
Round 1: Brzeski, having done his research, immediately starts kicking Cortes-Acosta in the leg. Already probably a dozen leg kicks a minute in. Solid combo by Cortes-Acosta, who catches a body kick and comes back with a 2-3. Trying to fire combos, can’t get through the guard two minutes in. Left hook from Brzeski. Body shot. Counter right by Cortes-Acosta. He catches a body kick and dings Brzeski with a pair of right hands. Emboldened, he smashes Brzeski with an arcing right that has Brzeski doing the chicken dance. Cortes-Acota swarms as Brzeski tries to stagger away and one more to the temple sends Brzeski to the mat face-first.
Final result: Cortes-Acosta def. Brzeski by KO (punches) — HIGHLIGHTS!
135 lbs.: Garrett Armfield vs. Toshiomi Kazama
Round 1: Solid punches from Armfield to start. Kazama leading with kicks and getting countered. 1-2s from Armfield. Kazama shoots, denied. One minute in. Armfield tries a lead elbow, lands a left hook. 3-2. Kazama shoots, Armfield limp-legs out. Two minutes in. Quick three-piece by Armfield. Good body shot, brief clinch. Sharp combo from Armfield, then a jab that hurts Kazama. Armfield swarms him against the fence, then waves him up with Kazama tries to tie up. Two minutes to go.

Kazama fires a naked low kick and Armfield crushes him with a counter right, sending the ref into action. Kazama is furious with the stoppage but he was getting spanked in there.

185 lbs.: Michal Oleksiejczuk vs. Chidi Njokuani
Round 1: Heavy shots from Njokuani in the opening seconds. Piling on the knees. Front kicks to the body. Oleksiejczuk continuing to march after him, lands an overhand left. One minute in. Body shot. Nice 1-2, Njokuani ties up in return. Oleksiejczuk moves to teh rear waist lock. Nice low kicks from Njokuani on the exit. Two minutes in. He tries a surprise double-leg and ends up on his back in guard. Oleksiejczuk lets him up and looks for body shots as Njokuani fires knees. Two minutes to go.
Njokuani blasts Oleksiejczuk with a head kick that has the Pole on skates. He tries to polish him off with knees and elbows, but Oleksiejczuk weathers it to hurt him with a left hand. Brutal punches from Oleksiejczuk, who once again finds himself on top in guard with a minute to go when Njokuani tries a knee. There’s no mercy for Njokuani this time, as Oleksiejczuk unloads until the ref steps in.
Final result: Oleksiejczuk def. Njokuani by TKO (punches) — HIGHLIGHTS!
170 lbs.: Rolando Bedoya vs. Song Kenan
Round 1: Low kicks from Bedoya to start. Counter right, decent combo upstairs. Good right hands as Song tries to step in. Song left hook. Knee on the exit a minute in. Bedoya hauls him to the fence, can’t keep him there long. Low kick exchange two minutes in. Nice counter left from Song. Three-piece by Bedoya with two minutes to go.
Song knocks him back with a teep, eats a flurry. Bedoya catches a body kick, lands a knee on the exit. One minute to go. Bedoya caps a combo with a low kick. He’s just outworking Song so far. Brief clinch. Bedoya catches another body kick. 10-9 Bedoya.
Round 2: Early clinch from Song. Left hook on the exit. Low kick from Bedoya. He throws a naked body kick and Song drops him with a counter two-piece, but can’t establish on top, allowing Bedoya to stand. 1-2 from Bedoya. Song to the body two minutes in. 1-2 stings Bedoya. They trade in the center. 2-1 from Song. Bedoya’s looking a bit spent. Two minutes to go.
Song lead right. Dipping hook, 2-1. Bedoya’s output has cratered. Decent entry from Bedoya, settles for taking him to the fence. Knee on the exit with a minute to go. Trading punches, Song getting the better of it. 10-9 Song.
Round 3: Bedoya with a lot of early leg kicks. Song answering with big swings. Combos from Bedoya, who appears to jam his toes on a checked kick. Jab from Song landing well. One minute in. 1-2-3 by Bedoya, more low kicks. Knee met by a hook from Song. Both land two minutes in. Combos by Bedoya, good low kicks. He’s getting control back through output. Two minutes to go.

170 lbs.: Billy Goff vs. Yusaku Kinoshita
Round 1: Quick head kick from Kinoshita to start. Heavy punches as Goff looks for low kicks. Goff body shot, Kinoshita straight left. Straight right by Goff. Fun action already. Hard inside low kick from Goff. One minute in. Short uppercut. Big three-piece by Kinoshita in return. Goff finding the mark with these leg kicks. Hard right from Kinoshita in return. They trade straights. Two minutes in. Both men landing big punches in combination. Goff to the body. He shoots, denied, lands another leg kick. Hard counter left by Kinoshita, then a right behind it. Body kick to straight left. Two minutes to go.
Goff enters with a good combo, eats a jump knee to the body, continues to land volume. Goff forces him back, then folds him with a body shot. Kinoshita collapses in a heap and Goff blasts him with hammerfists until the ref intervenes.

125 lbs.: JJ Aldrich vs. Liang Na
Round 1: 1-2 from Aldrich to start. Na missing the mark with her return fire. One minute in. Heavy check hook by Aldrich. 1-3. Na overcommits to an overhand and eats a pair of right hands, but manages to head-and-arm throw her way into guard. Aldrich works her way up, then falls victim to the same throw again two minutes in. Knees from Na on the way up. Heavy 2-3 lands for Aldrich with two minutes to go.
Na rushes into the clinch, tries the same throw a third time, ends up stuck on her knees. Half guard with a minute to go. Aldrich plays tight. 10-9 Aldrich.
Round 2: They trade hands for a bit before Na hits a surprisingly sharp takedown and looks for the back. Loses the hooks a minute in. Na rolling for an armbar but losing position. Side control for Aldrich, Na responds with a buggy choke attempt. Aldrich slips out and moves to mount, hunting an arm triangle. Two minutes to go.
Right hands from Aldrich. Brief back mount with a minute to go, continuing to land shots. Now a proper back mount, dropping elbows and punches. Aldrich flattens her out and unloads until the ref steps in.
Final result: Aldrich def. Liang by TKO (punches and elbows)
145 lbs.: Jarno Errens vs. Seungwoo Choi
Round 1: Errens opens with kicks. Lots of bouncy movement from both. Counter two-piece by Choi. Long 1-2 lands for Errens a minute in. Body kick, then another hard 1-2. Errens showing a lot of side kicks as Choi tries to pick away at his lead leg. Choi catches him coming in with a counter right that forces Errens to tie up and put him on the fence. Two minutes in. Slick Choi elbow. Another on the break. Two minutes to go.
Good exchange in the center. Choi lands sharp left hooks, but absorbs some heavy rights. Lots of feints from Errens, who gets caught by another counter right. One minute to go. They feint at each other for a while until Errens shoots and gets sprawled on. 10-9 Choi.
Round 2: Early counters from Choi. Errens feinting a lot but not landing early. As I say that, Errens steps in with a beautiful short uppercut that sends Choi to the mat a minute in, then follows him down into half guard. Not much action from the top over the next minute. Choi gets to his knees and works his way up, only to get hip tossed into guard. Two minutes to go.
Solid elbow by Choi. Errens tries to sit up, gives up half guard. One minute to go. Little arm punches from Choi. Errens looks for deep half, eats a few short elbows. 10-9 Errens on damage.
Round 3: Solid kicks from Choi to start. Errens stuck outside of range, eating kicks. One minute in. Straights from both men. Errens tries a two-touch sinning back kick, shoots, denied. Heavy Choi leg kick. Lead right hook by Errens, who lingers and gets stung by a counter right. Two minutes in. More kicks from Choi. Counter 2-3 by Choi. Lead right. Body kicks from Errens, Choi low kicks. With two minutes to go, Choi dead-legs Errens with a low kick, sending him staggering back before pulling guard.
