Where was Trevor Wittman?
Manon Fiorot picked up the biggest win of her career at UFC Paris yesterday (Sat., Sept. 2, 2023), spoiling former two-time Strawweight champion Rose Namajunas’s Flyweight debut via unanimous decision from inside Accor Arena in Paris, France.vWhile it was an important victory for Fiorot, unfortunately, her big win was overshadowed by the absence of Namajunas’ long-time coach, Wittman.
Twitter was wondering the reason the legendary mixed martial arts (MMA) coach was not in the “Thug” corner … especially after Namajunas informed her corner that she broke/dislocated her pinky finger during the first round.

No one knows where Wittman was or if Namajunas has left his gym, and because he rarely does any interviews, we won’t find out until he is seen again. However, a Twitter user pointed out that during Namajunas’ walkout, she trained at a new gym for the Fiorot fight.

It is not out of the realm of possibility that “Thug Rose” ditched her long-time coach after her listless and puzzling loss to Carla Esparza back in 2021. Wittman’s replacement? It appears to be Namajunas’ boyfriend and coach, Pat Barry, who have been working together for several fights, including her championship wins.
“Big John” would certainly not be surprised with the switch.
If that is the case, MMA fans believe Namajunas is screwed moving forward.
