Jake Paul vs. Nate Diaz (Part Deux) just got one step closer to reality.

Or it remains dead on arrival, depending on whether or not you believe these previous comments from Diaz. The former UFC welterweight insists he’s not interested in fighting inside the PFL SmartCage; however, Diaz likes to play fast and loose with reality, recently posting a phony-bologna fight poster announcing a “Problem Child” boxing rematch that nobody wants to see and isn’t happening.

Even Twitter shut him down with an embarrassing Community Note.

“For the record: Jake Paul will not be boxing Nate Diaz again,” Most Valuable Promotions posted on social media. “Nate Diaz and Jake Paul have received an offer from PFL MMA to rematch in MMA in the SmartCage. Jake Paul has accepted the offer.”

Paul, who defeated Diaz in their pay-per-view (PPV) boxing match last August, is expected to make his return to combat sports on Dec. 15 against an opponent to be named. No city or venue has been announced but it’s expected to take place in the “sweet science.”

“The Problem Child” is 7-1 as a pro with four knockouts.

The 38 year-old Diaz parted ways with UFC back in late 2022 and the Paul loss stands as his lone fight appearance during that span, unless you count this submission victory last April on the streets of New Orleans. Perhaps he’s saving himself for this big debut.

Diaz has yet to comment on the latest offer from PFL.
