Press Release – It seems like yesterday that Grant Brothers Boxing & MMA Gym celebrated its first anniversary. Believe it or not, the gym turns two years old this month.
How much has Grant Brothers MMA grown as a respected Canadian MMA gym over the last year? Put it this way: a reigning UFC champion will host the two-year anniversary party.
On November 26 from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., UFC lightweight champion Frankie “The Answer” Edgar will be on hand to celebrate Grant Brothers Boxing & MMA Gym’s birthday with its trainers, students and any MMA fans who want to come by and enjoy the festivities. The event takes place at 4884 Dufferin Street, unit 6 in Toronto, Ontario.
Edgar, who retained his title October 8 with a knockout victory over Gray Maynard, will do interviews with media before signing free autographs for fans and students.
For anyone attending November 26, there will be lots to do and see. The party will feature demos of Grant Brothers MMA’s many disciplines, including Sambo, Judo, Muay Thai, boxing and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ).
Event sponsors GP8 Water, Rockstar Energy and Fight Boutique will offer plenty of exciting giveaways. The party will also feature free food and drinks and Z103.FM will broadcast live from the gym.
Joining Frankie Edgar will be the Grant Brothers’ world-class coaching team, including Ryan “RG” Grant (boxing) and Sean Pierson (wrestling). Pierson, a Canadian UFC veteran, is slated to battle Dong Hyun Kim in a welterweight fight at UFC 141 December 30. Also on hand will be Canadian UFC newcomer Antonio Carvalho.
If you notice an unusual number of gentlemen with moustaches popping up in your neighbourhood this month, that’s likely because they’re raising money for Movember, a charity devoted to men’s issues such as prostate cancer and depression. At the anniversary bash, Grant Brothers MMA will collect donations on behalf of Movember Canada – a minimum of $5 and a recommended $10 contribution.
Over the last two years, Grant Brothers Boxing & MMA Gym has become one of Canada’s best-known, most respected MMA gyms. UFC greats like Roy Nelson, Dan Hardy, Dan Henderson and even the legendary Chuck Liddell have hosted our past events, including the first anniversary party and the summer barbecue. Now, with Frankie Edgar, It’s time to celebrate again and Grant Brothers wants you there November 26!
