This weekend (Sat., Dec. 2, 2023) at BKFC 56, the promotion debuts in Salt Lake City, Utah inside the Maverik Center. Headlining the event will be the former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Welterweight veteran, Mike Perry, who has become a superstar in the bare-knuckle boxing (BKB) world. Perry’s last time out, he welcomed Luke Rockhold to the ring, who he defeated via second round technical knockout (watch highlights). In that card’s co-main event, Eddie Alvarez made his BKB debut, defeating his fellow former UFC stablemate, Chad Mendes (watch highlights). Now they’re set to collide in the BKFC 56 main event. The BKFC 56 co-main event was originally set to feature a Heavyweight clash between combat sports veterans, Ben Rothwell, and Todd Duffee. Unfortunately, Rothwell fell ill during fight week and the promotion plans to rebook the match up for a date in February 2024.

An unexpected lightweight fantasy match up is also going down at BKFC 56 between more UFC veterans. Jeremy Stephens will enter the BKFC ring for the first time as he takes on former UFC Bantamweight contender, Jimmie Rivera.

Also in attendance at today’s (Thurs., Nov. 30, 2023) pre-fight press conference were the tandem of Flyweight champion, Christine Ferea, and Bec Rawlings. The title tilt will be a rematch after Ferea defeated Rawlings via second round technical knockout at the aforementioned BKFC 41 in April 2023.
