Sorry, Professional Fighters League (PFL), the UFC boss isn’t fazed.
Last month, the lousiest kept secret in mixed martial arts (MMA) happened as PFL acquired Bellator to become the co-leader in MMA. Well, that’s what owner Donn Davis believes. And yesterday, it was announced that PFL had re-signed a multi-year deal with ESPN.
UFC CEO Dana White has clowned Bellator whenever asked for the past year, especially about the potential merger. During the UFC Austin post-fight press conference (watch here), White gave his thoughts on the buy-out, which hasn’t changed.
“It’s f—king hilarious, but yeah, good for them. I wish them all the luck in the world,” White told the media. “I’ve covered this before; you must not have heard it. One shi—y organization that sells no tickets and nobody watches buys another shi—y organization that sells no tickets and nobody watches. Sounds like a f—king winner to me, boy. Right? Woo hoo.”
Of course, since White dismissed the PFL yet again, he must be worried about the co-leader.
PFL wrapped up their 2023 season last month in Washington, D.C. Check out the results here.
