Professional Fighters League (PFL) wrapped up the first half of its regular season last week (Fri., April 19, 2024) in Chicago, Ill., and now the promotion has revealed the second phase ahead of the $1 million championships later this year.
The action will resume on June 13, 2024, in Uncasville, Conn., with the Heavyweights and women’s Flyweights returning to battle. In the main event of the evening, Valentin Moldavsky will look to increase his point lead when he takes on Linton Vassell in 265-pound action.
Moldavsky had himself an explosive PFL debut, knocking out Ante Delija at PFL 1 earlier this month (see it again here), earning him six quick points to shoot to the top of the leader board. As for Vassell, he didn’t do too well on the same card, losing to Denis Goltsov via third round technical knockout. A win over Moldavsky will earn him some much-needed points if he wants to make a run at the $1 million prize.
The two men have already competed against each other before, with Moldavsky earning a unanimous decision win over “Swarm” at Bellator 218.
Co-headlining the event will be Dakota Ditcheva taking on Chelsea Hackett in women’s 125-pound action. Ditcheva earned six points in the division by knocking out Lisa Mauldin in the first round at PFL 1 earlier this month in San Antonio, Texas, improving her unbeaten streak (11-0). As for Hackett, she is far behind in the standings after suffering a first round submission loss at the hands of Jena Bishop on the same night.
PFL will be back in action a week later as the Light Heavyweights and Lightweights take center stage in Salt Lake City, Utah, on June 21, 2024, while the Welterweights and Featherweights resume on June 28, 2024, in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
