Viewer numbers stayed steady for a second straight weekend for the Bellator Fighting Championship promotion, as this past Saturday’s (Nov. 26, 2011) Bellator 59 event drew an audience of 265,000 viewers to MTV2.

This was certainly a relief for Bellator officials which have seen ratings change weekly from 114,000 viewers for Bellator 50, up to 269,000 for Bellator 52 and the recent Bellator 58 event.

The event went down at Caesars Atlantic City in Atlantic City, New Jersey and featured the final event of Bellator’s fifth season.

Tournament finals at the event included a bantamweight final between Eduardo Dantas vs. Alexis Vila, with Dantas earning a unanimous decision. As well as the heavyweight final between Eric Prindle vs. Thiago Santos. This match would end in a “No Contest” after Santos kicked Prindle in the testicles during the first round. Prindle was unable to continue and is still suffering from the kick.

According to Sherdog.com, the immediate replay drew an additional 136,000 viewers on Saturday night.

Bellator is expected to kick off their sixth season sometime in February.
