WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury will face WBA, IBF, and WBO kingpin Oleksandr Usyk this Sat. night (May 18, 2024) at Kingdom Hall in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The winner will capture all four crowns, unifying the division titles and brining order to the heavyweight rankings after a wild and wacky foray into crossover contests.
Fury and Usyk will make their way through a sea of combat sports reporters and adoring fight fans for today’s grand arrivals, streaming LIVE at 2 p.m. ET in the embedded video above. For those “sweet science” spectators unfamiliar with the “grand arrivals” tradition, it’s basically a glorified photo-op designed to kickoff fight week.
“You’re fighting the greatest British heavyweight that’s ever been,” Fury told Usyk during their announcement press conference late last year (watch the video replay here). “You’ve beat all the rest of them but you haven’t met Tyson Fury yet, you sausage! Ugly little man. You know what’s coming, you’re getting smashed.”
Fans planning to stream the “Ring of Fire” pay-per-view (PPV) event on DAZN (order it here) will need to cough up $69.99, which is $10 cheaper than what boxing fans paid to watch “The Gypsy King” struggle against Francis Ngannou last fall. In addition, the Fury vs. Usyk lineup gives viewers a lot more bang for the buck.
