UFC CEO Dana White claims former two-division champion, Conor McGregor, could not make his Octagon comeback because of his commitments to the Road House movie, which recently got approved for a sequel after breaking a streaming record for Prime Video.
Retired UFC welterweight, Jorge Masvidal, claims it was a different kind of shooting schedule that kept “Notorious” at bay, which is why the promotion had to oust United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) in order to lure McGregor back to the Octagon.
After all, those $20 million gates won’t sell themselves.
“How much juice is Conor on,” Masvidal asked “TimboSugarShow” (transcribed by MMA Junkie). “That’s another question, because that motherf*cker had to wait until USADA left to come back and compete with all of us. While all of us have been training and getting tested, this motherf*cker was clearly on some sh*t as we can see by his f*cking movie. Half of them tweets, he’s out of his mind. You know, cocaine’s a hell of a drug because he be writing some sh*t that don’t make no damn sense.”
Cocaine appears to be popular among UFC headliners who like to party all night.
Despite the ongoing drug accusations (and a few damning Instagram photos), McGregor has never failed a pre- or post-fight drug test. That should prevent “Notorious” from facing any charges of attempted murder in the Court of “Rowdy” Opinion.
No question the power-punching Irishman will continue to face scrutiny (and another round of Dixie cups) in the lead up to his UFC 303 return, where McGregor fights fellow “Ultimate Fighter” coach Michael Chandler, no stranger to steroid allegations.
The price of being “bigger than Conor,” I suppose.
