Ultimate Reno Combat 29 – No Mercy
Fri Dec 9 11:00PM ET
Northern Nevada’s premier cage fighting event returns as Ultimate Reno Combat 29 presents No Mercy LIVE on December 9 at the Grand Sierra Resort in Reno, Nevada. Be there live to watch this 11-fight attraction including a title fight and if you can’t make it to Reno watch online at the GFL Combat Sports Network at GFL.tv.
In the main event, for the URC Light Heavyweight Title, Brandon Costa (3-0) from Uriah Faber’s Ultimate Fitness battles Carlos Sanchez (2-1). Costa has had all 3 of his bouts inside the Ultimate Reno Combat cage and has delivered every time winning two by TKO including his most recent fight in October. Sanchez brings a high risk/high reward style to the fight as all 3 of his bouts have ended in the first round, with two being victories for Sanchez. Fight fans won’t want to blink as these two gladiators square off with everything at stake.
Also featured on the stacked undercard is URC favorite Oscar Ramirez (5-2) from Reno Academy of Combat versus Michael Hutchins (2-0) from Sektion 8 Fight Team in a flyweight contest. These two 125 lb fighters should tear the house down with their nonstop action inside of the ring. This bout could be a “fight of the night” candidate as both men have cardio conditioning that is through the roof.
In other action Naseef Ashkar (0-1) from Team Sharp Nux fights Mychal Clark (0-0) from Weapons Factory in a welterweight scrap. Both athletes are new to the game and this will be a great fight for them to decide if MMA is for them. Expect Ashkar and Clark to come out banging and set a fast pace in the standup department.
Watch the champions of tomorrow compete today! Don’t miss this loaded event with 11 bouts as Northern Nevadaâ??s only cage-fighting organization, Ultimate Reno Combat 29 presents No Mercy on December 9 live on pay-per-view and exclusively on GFL.tv.
CFFC 12 – Pollard vs Soto
Sat Dec 10 7:00PM ET
Cage Fury Fighting Championships returns December 10 to Atlantic City, New Jersey as it presents CFFC 12 – Pollard VS Soto at the Resorts Hotel and Casino. The exciting card is loaded with the top fighters on the East Coast and is headlined by 4 TOP MATCHES! CFFC has been on a rampage since its re-launch and MMA fans in the Tri-State area won’t want to miss this stacked card.
In the main event, CFFC Welterweight Champion, Chip “The Surgeon” Pollard (5-2) defends his title for the first time against UFC veteran Greg Soto (8-2). Pollard won the title last July in an upset against former champ Joey Rivera by TKO due to cuts. Things won’t get any easier for the new champ as his first title defense is against Soto who just had a 3-fight stint in the UFC. Pollard got the nickname “The Surgeon” because of his pinpoint accuracy and he will need to be on-point with his strikes as Soto is grappling wizard so if things hit the mat, it will be to Soto’s advantage.
The CFFC Light Heavyweight co-main event will also be on the line as undefeated amateur Daniel Holmes will make his pro debut against Chris “The Finisher” Sydnor (1-5). Holmes was quite impressive during his amateur tenure, even winning a title. He looks to make a splash into the professional ranks as he is fighting for another title in his first pro bout. For Sydnor, he fought for and won earlier this year in CFFC by KO and that victory made quite an impression on the CFFC officials as they now matched him up in a title fight.
Chris “The Story” Liguori (13-9) battles Don Carlo-Clauss (7-5) at the CFFC Lightweight level. Both fighters have fought at 170 lb their entire careers, so this will be an interesting fight to see if the added weight cut will have adverse effects on their performances. Earlier this year, Liguori had a hard fought, tough, split decision loss in a CFFC Welterweight Title, but came back strong in his next bout picking up a victory by KO. For Liguori, a win against Carlo-Clauss would close out a busy year with CFFC on a great note for the Ricardo Almeida student. Carlo-Clauss is coming off of a tough loss on the Strikeforce: Fedor VS Silva card and looks to put that past him and close out the year to be in line for the CFFC Lightweight Championship. Carlo-Clauss’ biggest attribute is his cardio conditioning as he likes to grind out his opponents for decisions, so the extra weight cut down to 155 lb could be very instrumental into Carlo-Clauss’ game plan going into the fight. Expect a “fight of the night” here as these two gladiators will come out guns blazing.
Another top match-up is in the CFFC Featherweight division as undefeated fighters Steve Perez (2-0) fights Dan Cion (3-0) in what is sure to be a barnburner. Perez won both of his fights earlier this year inside the CFFC cage by submission and looks to make it number three against Cion. For Cion, who is also a CFFC veteran, he prefers to pressure his opponents for a whole fight, and where them down and winning by decision. It will be a clash of styles and game plans as these to 145 lb scrappers hook horns in the CFFC cage.
Be sure to catch all of the action LIVE on December 10 as CFFC 12 – Pollard VS Soto brings down the house on pay-per-view exclusively at GFL.tv. See the rising stars on the East Coast compete in front of some of the most avid fans. Be a part of the excitement and order this iPPV from the GFL Combat Sports Network.
