Nate Diaz already has his next fight lined up.

The younger Diaz brother’s sophomore appearance in the boxing ring went better than his debut against Jake Paul last year (August 2024). Unlike that unanimous decision loss (watch highlights), Diaz went the distance in his rematch with Jorge Masvidal to win a majority decision (watch highlights) this past weekend (July 6, 2024).

Despite the positive result inside the ring, Diaz claims he’s been dealt a financial loss, filing a lawsuit against the promoter, Fanmio. According to Diaz, he’s currently owed $9 million, which Fanmio CEO, Solomon Engel, has rebuked via a press release.

“Nate Diaz has filed a frivolous lawsuit against Fanmio which claims that fraud and breach of contract were committed by Fanmio, yet neither has taken place,” Engel said. “In fact, Diaz has already been paid seven figures in connection with the fight. I look forward to resolving this dispute through the appropriate process and am confident that justice will prevail. Making salacious and defamatory statements to the media in order to harm my family and I has only strengthened my resolve to ensure that the truth will triumph.”

Diaz, 39, has boxed twice since he parted ways with Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) in September 2022. The one-time Lightweight title challenger has been optimistic about returning to mixed martial arts (MMA) and the promotion. He went out on a high note, defeating Tony Ferguson via a fourth round guillotine choke (watch highlights) at UFC 279.
