Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) recently unveiled the official fight poster for the upcoming UFC 305: “Du Plessis vs. Adesanya” pay-per-view (PPV) event, locked and loaded for Sat., Aug. 17, 2024 inside RAC Arena in Perth, Western Australia, and it’s nice to see a poster that doesn’t suck.

There’s been a lot of that going around these days.

This marks the first title defense for Dricus Du Plessis (21-2) since capturing the middleweight crown from Sean Strickland at UFC 297 earlier this year in Toronto. Similarly, Israel Adesanya (24-3) has not competed since losing his Strickland fight, a UFC 293 decision back in late 2023.

UFC 305 will also feature the flyweight showdown between Kai Kara-France and Steve Erceg. Elsewhere on the card, heavyweight hurter Tai Tuivasa collides with former kickboxer Jairzinho Rozenstruik, not long after Junior Tafa and Valter Walker throw the heaviest of leather at 265 pounds.

“People asked me about Adesanya and Du Plessis, I said I don’t see Adesanya losing,” UFC light heavyweight champion Alex Pereira said on YouTube. “Just because he said that about me doesn’t mean I’ll say it back. It’s what I think. I don’t think he loses this fight. I hope he wins because he has a beautiful story. I think he has to continue his story.”
