UFC CEO Dana White announced a new Edmonton show along with a promise to return to Canada more often moving forward.
The UFC will return to Canada for the first time since January for a Fight Night event headlined by flyweight contenders Rose Namajunas and Erin Blanchfield.
UFC CEO Dana White made the announcement on Sportsnet, adding that Derrick Lewis would also fight Alexandr Romanov in the co-main event.
“We’re coming back to Edmonton, November 2nd,” White said. “I’ve been talking a lot about people asking me, ‘Where are you gonna go? What other cities?’ We’re going back to Canada. I wanna get back on a regular schedule back up in Canada like we used to, so it seems like we’re we’re heading in that direction.”

That’s good news for Canadian fans, who have only had two UFC events in their country since the pandemic kicked off in 2020. Before that, the promotion averaged three events per year in the Great White North. This card, even though it’s a Fight Night and not a pay-per-view, is sounding pretty good too.
“The main event: the number 3 ranked Erin Blanchfield will take on Rose Namajunas,” White said. “I think they’re number 3 and number 5 in the women’s flyweight division. And the co-main event will be Derrick Lewis and Alexandr Romanoff. Romanoff is ranked number 13, and, Derek Lewis is number 11 in the heavyweight division.”
Other fights currently announced for this card include Ariane Lipski vs. Ontario’s Jasmine Jasudavicius, Gatineau’s Marc-Andre Barriault vs. Dustin Stoltzfus, Calgary native Chad Anheliger vs. Cody Gibson, and British Columbia’s Jamey-Lyn Horth vs. Ivana Petrovic.
