Hopefully that car washing job is still on the table.

Former Bellator welterweight Dillon Danis, who tried to parlay his success on the jiu-jitsu circuit into a social influencer career, is being sued by Nina Agdal for “reputational harm” in the buildup to his Logan Paul boxing match back in late 2023.

Danis lost the bout by way of disqualification.

It now seems Danis will need to find new lawyers to represent him if the case ends up in court. Lead attorney Mark Berman, on behalf of Hartmann Doherty Rosa Berman & Bulbulia LLP, filed a motion to withdraw for nonpayment, among other issues.

“I personally like Mr. Danis, I find this case to be an interesting one and I would prefer to continue representing him,” Berman wrote in the filing, courtesy of MMA Fighting. “However, I cannot do so effectively if he fails to respond to my communications and the firm will not allow me to do so if he fails to comply with the terms of the retainer agreement. For those reasons, counsel respectfully asks the court to grant counsel leave to withdraw as counsel for the defendant.”

Berman also noted this was “a recurring problem.”

Danis, 31, was released by Bellator MMA after refusing to compete, then talked his way into the Paul fight under the Misfits Banner. “El Jefe” teased a UFC debut for 2024; however, his past connection to Conor McGregor did little to influence UFC CEO Dana White.

The next chapter in the Danis story could be … 7.
