Brendan Allen returns to action at UFC Paris this weekend (Sat., Sept. 28, 2024) in a major co-main event fight for the Middleweight division against Nassourdine Imavov, which goes down inside Accor Arena in Paris, France.
Allen is currently on a seven-fight win streak with five submission finishes and is looking to make a run at the 185-pound crown. However, surprisingly, he is only ranked No. 8 in the Middleweight division, compared to Imavov, who is No. 4, and he’s pissed about it.
“Yeah, it’s crazy, man, I’m the only guy on the win streak that I’m on that falls places in the rankings,” Allen told MMA Fighting. “When guys above me are on losses or consecutive losses, I don’t even know, but I know there are losses, so it’s just whatever. Like, it’s kind of comical at this point.
“I don’t even know who’s on the [rankings] board panel,” Allen added. “But, if anyone told me they were on the rankings [panel], I would never have a conversation with them, ever. I’d literally tell them to go f—ck themselves.”
It is fair for “All-In” to feel the way he does because Imamov — who is ranked above him — is only on a two-fight win streak. In addition, Jared Cannonier — also on a two-fight losing streak — is a spot above him. And Marvin Vettori — who hasn’t fought in 15 months and is coming off a loss — is ranked two spots ahead of him.
What do you think of Allen’s rant, Maniacs?
