McGregor may have just cooked himself on social media.
Conor McGregor is disappointed in Kevin Holland.
The middleweight “Trailblazer” lost by way of technical knockout after suffering a rib injury against Roman Dolidze as part of the UFC 307 pay-per-view (PPV) card last Sat. night (Oct. 5, 2024) at Delta Center in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Holland’s corner threw in the towel at the conclusion of the opening frame.
McGregor argues that Holland should have at least attempted to compete in the second stanza. Without knowing the extent of the injury, and at the risk of causing further damage, calling it quits was probably in the fighter’s best interest.
“Didn’t even fucking try? Nah, that is ridiculous! Go out again and see how it is,” McGregor tweeted — then deleted — on X. “If folds up again then you end it with the towel. Nah, that’s not it for me folks. Holland is a solid veteran, he well should have went out and gave it a shot to see how he was. Wrong move.”

McGregor was widely-criticized for bailing on the UFC 303 main event back in June after breaking his pinky toe. The damage was so severe, he was out of action for a whopping … three weeks. Why “Notorious” hasn’t been rebooked in the months that followed is anybody’s guess, but he “should have went out and gave it a shot to see how he was.”
Alex Pereira, charged with headlining UFC 307, replaced McGregor in the UFC 303 main event, even though “Poatan” was also suffering from a broken toe. “Notorious” later referred to himself on social media as “the greatest fighter on God’s green earth” and claimed he “runs the whole game forever.”
I think he meant “runs from the whole game forever,” based on his absence of over three years (and counting).
