Dana White is fed up with the media morons who know nothing and do nothing.
That’s why the UFC CEO has called an emergency meeting to address the ongoing issue with his staff. It seems the straw the broke the camel’s back was the weekly update that came out in the days following UFC 307.
Khalil Rountree Jr. won “Fight of the Night” for his performance against light heavyweight champion Alex Pereira, but failed to gain any traction in the 205-pound rankings after getting stopped by “Poatan” in the fourth frame.
“The morons strike again,” White said in a video posted to Instagram. “Khalil Rountree fights that badass fight against Pereira and the morons rank him at No. 8 — keep him at No. 8. Literally this week, I have a meeting to try to fix the rankings and get all these know-nothing, do-nothing motherf—kers out of it.”
What happened to Rountree was not unlike the Renato Moicano situation at last month’s UFC Paris event. The Brazilian laid waste to Benoit Saint-Denis but was subsequently ignored by media members charged with the weekly vote.
The ensuing drama led White to explore artificial intelligence as one possible solution for the broken rankings system. It’s also worth pointing out that White despises the MMA media and frequently rants about the placement of his fighters.
