McGregor and Poirier came within a dozen feet of each other at a convention in Las Vegas over the weekend, with ‘Diamond’ saying ‘it would have been bad’ if they’d met.

Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirier almost ended up having their fourth fight in the middle of a packed Las Vegas convention center this past weekend.

Both men were in attendance at the NACS Show, where representatives from U.S. convenience store and gas stations gather to broker product distribution deals. McGregor was pushing a new Bucked Up Notorious Buck energy drink, while Poirier was repping multiple sponsors.

McCormick Place Convention Center is big, but not big enough for the two of them. Footage from Full Send captured the moment where Conor was told Dustin saw their entourage and “went the other way.”

“Oh, he’s here?” McGregor replied with laugh. “No way!”

McGregor didn’t seem too bothered by the presence of “Diamond,” despite their last in-person interaction being … heated, to say the least. And on the latest episode of The Ariel Helwani Show, Poirier also laughed the near-encounter off before admitting things would have popped off if they’d actually come face to face.

“I had just finished my signing for Celsius and I’m partners with a seltzer company called HOP WTR, so I was walking over to their booth to meet some people,” Poirier recounted. “And Conor was behind me, apparently.”

“My agent was walking behind me and grabs me. Conor might’ve seen the back of my head, I don’t know. I didn’t see him. My agent grabbed my shoulders and said, ‘This way to the right, to the right.’ … And once we got clear of everybody he was like, ‘Dude, we almost had a big problem.’ And that’s what that was.”

“We just have such a long history, he said some foul things,” he continued. “You ever watched Family Guy? You know when Peter and the chicken run into each other? They go on this crazy fight, they’re falling down hills, they’re fighting for an hour. That’s what would have happened. Yeah, for sure [we would have fought].”

“If we would’ve made eye contact, if our eyes had met, it would have been bad, probably.”

Past the possibility of a random brawl, Poirier isn’t too interested in a fourth fight with McGregor. He’s currently entertaining the idea of two more fights instead of ‘uno mas,’ and shared a list of potential opponents. McGregor was not one of them.

“Dude, I don’t know if he’s ever going to fight again,” he said of the Irish sports star.
