Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) head honcho is not looking forward to his ex-employee’s return.
Francis Ngannou makes his highly anticipated return to mixed martial arts (MMA) this weekend (Sat., Oct. 19, 2024) against Brazilian giant Renan Ferreira, headlining PFL Super Fights: “Battle of the Giants,” which will take place inside Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
While most of the combat sports community is interested in Ngannou’s return to MMA after a lucrative two-fight stint in boxing, his former boss, UFC CEO Dana White, is not.
During the week 10 Contender Series post-fight press conference (watch here), White was asked his thoughts on Ngannou vs. Ferreira.
“What do I care?” White told the media.

It makes complete sense that White would not care about a competing promotion’s biggest card of the year, but there is history of bad blood between White and “The Predator.”
Ngannou left UFC in early 2023 for PFL to make “life-changing money” in boxing, and White has buried him ever since by saying, “Francis didn’t want to fight Jon Jones, the scariest, most bad-ass fighter of all time.”
Recently, the two have disagreed over the pay that was offered for Ngannou to stay in UFC, with White saying it was more than Ngannou made in boxing.
