“Iron” Mike couldn’t care less about legacy (unlike this big fella).

Heavyweight boxing legend, Mike Tyson, 58, finally battles YouTuber-turned boxer, Jake Paul, 27, tomorrow night (Fri., Nov. 15, 2024) from inside AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, streaming live on a historic Netflix broadcast.

Prior to the special — albeit controversial — event, Tyson was randomly interviewed by a 13-year-old reporter (who has 1.3 million followers on Instagram), Jazyln Guerra (a.k.a. Jazzysworldtv) and asked about what type of legacy he hopes to leave.

Well, it might be surprising, but Tyson doesn’t care about his legacy whatsoever; in fact, he has a rather grim outlook.

“I don’t believe in the word legacy — I just think it’s another word for ego,” Tyson said. “Legacy doesn’t mean nothing. Someone said that word, and everyone grabbed on it, and now it’s used every five seconds. It means absolutely nothing to me. I’m just passing through. I’m going to die, and then it’s going to be over — who cares about legacy after that?

“We’re nothing, we’re dead, we’re dust,” Tyson added. “Our legacy is nothing. Can you really imagine someone saying, ‘I want my legacy to be this or that.’ You’re dead! Do you really want someone to think about you? What’s the audacity that someone says, ‘I want people to think about me when I’m gone.

“Who the f—k cares about me when I’m gone?” Tyson concluded. “My kids, maybe, or my grandkids. Who the f—k cares.”

The aspiring reporter didn’t miss a beat, holding down the fort like a professional despite the seemingly insane words coming from Tyson’s mouth. His behavior around the child was a bit different than when he ran into Hasbullah earlier this year, who Tyson thought (incorrectly) was a kid.

Whoops!

Nevertheless, while Tyson might not care about his legacy, the world cares … Dana White cares! In the end, Tyson will almost certainly be viewed as one of the best and most frightening combat sports athletes of all-time.

However, his legacy would certainly take a hit with a devastating loss to Paul. And it all goes down tomorrow night … for better or worse.
