Can one of the most fearsome boxers to ever step into the ring beat back Father Time for just a short while against Youtube sensation Jake Paul? We find out tonight in Texas!
Ladies, gentlemen and children of all ages: it’s time for some insanity to go down!
Tonight (Fri., Nov. 15, 2024), streaming live on Netflix starting at 6 p.m. ET, we’ve got one of the biggest women’s boxing matches of the year and, without a doubt, the craziest fights of the year.
It’s Mike Tyson vs. Jake Paul after we get the long-awaited rematch between Amanda Serrano vs. Katie Taylor. And it all goes down tonight from AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, and MMAmania.com will have blow-by-blow coverage of the two memorable matches below.

What else needs to be said that hasn’t been said already?
Serrano vs. Taylor 1 was one of the best fights in women’s boxing history (watch highlights), and a “Fight of the Year”-worthy boxing banger. Indeed, the two stars were all gas and no brakes for 10 rounds and it was neck-and-neck. I don’t say this qualifier very often, but if you aren’t salivating over this rematch, you aren’t a real boxing fan.
WHAT A FINISH. WHAT A FIGHT.

As for the main event? Look, it’s Mike Tyson. The dude can throw leather hard. Nearly every fight fan is hoping he gets in a good one, because even at that age, a good one from “Iron” can put down anyone. Even more-so because the man who will be across the ring from him is none other than the boxing disruptor. He’s been called a grifter, con-man, clout-chaser and worse.
But, he’s also a winner in this sport. Let me repeat that: Jake Paul has won boxing so far.
Personally, I haven’t minded his level of competition. Boxing newcomers are supposed to be fighting club-level guys and never-will-be names at the start of their careers. People want to see him fight world champion boxers, but that’s also because they want to see him laid out. Like it or not, old mixed martial arts (MMA) fighters are the correct level he should be at by boxing standards.
Now, he has a very new and uncharted opponent he has to face. Indeed, 58 years old might as well be 98 in competitive athletics. The closest we’ve ever seen has been in non-contact sports (like baseball). This isn’t even a contact sport, this is a combat sport. Those disclaimers aside, Tyson has looked pretty good in his workout videos (see it here). The similarly ancient Evander Holyfield looked like three-day old leftovers when he was hitting the mitts, but Tyson has looked scary.
We find out just how much he can fend off the undefeated sands of time along with Paul’s big overhand tonight … only on Netflix.

TYSON VS. PAUL LIVE PLAY-BY-PLAY:
Mike Tyson vs. Jake Paul
Round 1: Props to this ring announcer, he’s been yelling for like, 4 minutes straight. Paul in silver, Tyson in black. Tyson pushing forward to start. Tyson clips a jab, just misses a right. Jab by Paul. We’re buffering badly here, and not the Michael or Bruce kind. Missed the end of the round. Thanks, Netflix
10-9 Tyson, I guess
Round 2: Paul clips a right hand over the top. Tyson ducks a punch and swings back. Tyson bobbing and weaving pretty well. Tyson is a lot less aggressive in this round, already. We’ll see if his gas tank holds up.
10-9 Paul?
Round 3: Paul putting some punches together. He’s getting his left in repeatedly. Three or four hooks land on the dome of the former champ. Tyson still sluggish here and not throwing as much.
10-9 Paul
Round 4: Fairly slow round so far. Right to the body by Paul. The commentary booth is harping on Mike Tyson’s balance, but at least on my screen, I think he’s doing pretty well. His waist movement is outstanding.
10-9 Paul
Round 5: Paul 1-2 just clips Tyson. Lefts by both men land. It’s a weird scene that the 27-year old Paul isn’t putting the pressure on more
10-9 Paul
Round 6: Someone give Tyson a huge cup of coffee and 500mg of testosterone? He’s just stuck in the mud this whole round so far. Maybe some Compound V.
10-9 Paul
Round 7: Look, Tyson is amazing for a 58-year old man. But, sadly, yea, he’s 58, and we all expected this if it lasted more than the first. Paul has almost tripled up Tyson’s output so far.
10-9 Paul
Round 8: If I can say another positive thing about Mike Tyson, his defense has held up pretty damn well. Paul hasn’t landed anything clean, and he’s knocked out people a hell of a lot younger than Mike. They show tons of respect to each other at the end.
10-9 Paul
Final result: Jake Paul beats Mike Tyson by unanimous decision
Amanda Serrano vs. Katie Taylor for the WBA, WBC, IBF, WBO, and The Ring lightweight titles
Round 1: Serrano in black and white, Taylor in black and gold. They meet in the middle and spar around slowly to start. Overhand right by Taylor just glances. There’s a nice left hook, too. Serrano double jabs and then a straight left. Left by Taylor, a response by Serrano clips in. Round is almost over, and Serrano with a big left hook that wobbles Taylor!
10-9 Serrano
Round 2: Good right by Taylor. Serrano on the front foot. Slower round this time. Decent left by Serrano. Not a whole lot happening.
10-9 Serrano
Round 3: Check left hook by Taylor. They both exchange rights. Measured spots from both women so far.
10-9 Taylor
Round 4: Flurry by Taylor. She hits Serrano and now Serrano fires back. They’re turning up the heat here and the fists are flying now. Ref pauses from a headbutt. Serrano has a cut on her cheek. Two good lefts by Taylor.
10-9 Taylor
Round 5: Each woman is landing left hands like it’s their job. Which it is. That cut above the eyelid of Serrano (the one caused by the headbutt), is bothering Serrano. Great round. In case you missed it, btw, how about Mike Tyson’s butt cheeks?
10-9 Serrano
Round 6: They have a good habit of landing at the same time as each other. Taylor lands a good one and it really rips open that cut above Serrano’s right eye. Doc checks it and they continue.
10-9 Taylor
Round 7: Serrano with a counter. Taylor with a counter! They’re showing off top skills that have made them both champions. Four punch flurry by Taylor. And a right hand. Another right by Taylor. One by Serrano!
10-9 Taylor
Round 8: Serrano hits a jab, eats a good counter left. Another headbutt and Taylor gets a stern warning by the ref. Serrano right, Taylor left. They’re punching in bunches. Hell of a round. Ref takes a point from Taylor! Another headbutt!
9-9 round
Round 9: They’re in a phone booth and slinging away. Big overhand right from Serrano. They’re bishing, boshing and bashing and it’s really impossible to keep up with what’s happening. The output is tremendous here.
10-9 Serrano
Round 10: Mauro Renallo just called it visceral action and for once he’s not wrong. They’re really just going nuts on each other here. All gas and no brakes here. Taylor looks exhausted. I think the ref missed the bell and let them throw an extra ten seconds or so. I’m not sure who won this, aside from all the fans that just watched this.
10-9 Taylor
Final result: Katie Taylor defeats Amanda Serrano by unanimous decision
