Dorobshokh Nabotov, an undefeated fighter from Tajikistan, decided to shoot his shot at Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) CEO Dana White during the UFC 308 pre-fight press conference back in October, asking White for an immediate UFC contract.
Nabotov didn’t close the deal, but White arranged for him to compete in the new Z-Fight Night (ZFN) promotion, spearheaded by retired UFC featherweight Chan Sung “The Korean Zombie” Jung. ZFN is expected to air on UFC Fight Pass.
Today (Mon., Nov. 25, 2024), Nabotov’s fight was announced on Instagram. The undefeated Lightweight combatant will take on top Brazilian prospect Matheus Camilo on Sat., Dec. 14, 2024, inside KINTEX Exhibition Hall 7A in Goyang, South Korea.
This will be ZFN’s second MMA event and it will host the UFC head honcho as he films Dana White: Lookin’ for a Fight.
Nabotov, 25, boasts an 8-0 record with four first-round finishes. He has two wins inside Absolute Championship Akhmat (ACA), a strong regional promotion, and defeated Murad Bilarov in his last outing via majority decision back in Nov. 2023.
Camilo, 23, has an 8-2 record and is riding a five-fight win streak with four finishes. He defeated Jhonasky Sojo via unanimous decision two months ago in the main event of Tuff-N-Uff 139.
While Nabotov made headlines during UFC 308 fight week, Camilo is looking to steal the spotlight and snag the UFC contract for himself.
