The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Light Heavyweight division is getting active … on social media.
Yesterday, former UFC Light Heavyweight champion Jiri Prochazka took to his social media to “say something after a long time,” that something was a message to upcoming opponent Jamahal Hill, whom he will collide with at UFC 311 in January. He also bashed No. 1 contender Magomed Ankalaev, basically telling him he is boring.
Well, Anakalaev did not take Prochazka’s message too kindly and has responded (or his manager did).
“Hey why you talk about me, 2 of your last 3 fights you went to sleep,” Ankalaev said. “Alex made you go to sleep but I will make Alex go to sleep and I believe Jamahal Hill will make you sleep also, your new name is sleepy Jiri. Focus on your fight.”

“Sleepy Jiri” is lowkey a pretty sick burn, especially because the former champion has in fact, been knocked out in two of his last three fights.
Nevertheless, Ankalaev patiently awaits his chance to fight current Light Heavyweight kingpin Alex Pereira. According to the Russian, who is riding an 11-fight win streak, he will fight for the title in May 2025.
