Jake Paul has retired from the world of influencer boxing.

“El Gallo” is now a full-time professional boxer who plans to continue his march toward a potential pay-per-view (PPV) fight opposite IBF, WBC, and WBO super middleweight champion Canelo Alvarez. Replacing Paul as the face of influencer boxing is AnEsonGib, according to Most Valuable Promotions (MVP).

“Gib” defeated fellow influencer “Slim” last weekend at Misfits Boxing 19.

“Flashback Friday to when Jake Paul was an influencer boxer,” MVP wrote on Instagram. “Two fights, 2-0, 2 KOs. The best there was, is, and ever will be. Jake Paul is RETIRED from that sport. They need him, he doesn’t need them, hence why they said his name 400 times this past week. Gib is the current best in that sport.”

Paul, now 11-1 with 7 KOs, made his pro debut by stopping AnEsonGib then returned to the “sweet science” to knockout NBA star Nate Robinson. His most recent trip to the squared circle resulted in a record-breaking (and widely panned) decision victory over the mummified remains of 58 year-old Mike Tyson.

No word yet on when or where Paul will make his boxing return, but “El Gallo” is getting called out by some of the biggest names in the sport, including Ryan Garcia and Tank Davis, among others. The 28 year-old YouTube star’s only professional loss came against Tommy Fury (of the famed Fury family) last year in Saudi Arabia.
