Undefeated welterweight contender, Ian Garry, is one victory away from a 2025 title shot against Belal Muhammad. But that requires “The Future” to overcome division menace Shavkat Rakhmonov, also unbeaten at 170 pounds, in the UFC 310 co-main event this weekend in Las Vegas.

That’s why Garry is stacking his corner on fight night.

“I read a stat the other day: Charles Oliveira went to the fourth round for the first time in his career after his 46th UFC fight,” Garry said on YouTube. “That’s insane! The guy is a machine! I f*cking love and adore Charles Oliveira with all of my heart. He is absolutely the most entertaining fighter in the UFC. Man has never been in an un-entertaining fight. He’s an absolute savage, I love him, and he’s going to be in my corner for this fight.”

In addition to holding the lightweight title from 2021-22, Oliveira owns multiple UFC records, including most finishes (20) and most post-fight performance bonuses (20).

“I think God has a plan, and if God wants me to finish Shavkat, he will give it to me,” a confident Garry continued. “But I have no problem thumping it out of Shavkat for 25 minutes and making a statement. I’m going to win, regardless of anything anyone throws me. I’m telling you now, Dec. 7, Ian Garry vs. Shavkat Rakhmonov, I’m getting my hand raised, 16-0, by any means necessary.”

The 27 year-old Garry is 15-0 with eight finishes, seven by way of knockout. His most recent victory came over ex-Bellator bruiser Michael “Venom” Page as part of the UFC 303 pay-per-view (PPV) card last June in “Sin City.”
