Former UFC veteran Brian Foster (18-5) was confirmed as the next welterweight fighter set to join Bellator Fighting Championships season six tournament. Officials confirmed the news on Twitter (@bellatormma) on Thursday.

Fans may remember foster from his five appearances in the Octagon, going 3-2 at the time, before he was forced to pull out of a UFC 129 bout versus Sean Pierson after a pre-fight physical discovered a brain hemorrhage.

Foster would undergo successful brain surgery but would suffer another set back after a training accident saw him receive an accidental strike to the groin which caused him to suffer a burst testicle.

After spending a year on the sidelines Foster would return to mixed martial arts, winning two bouts in October via first round submission. He is currently on a four fight win streak.

Foster joins previously announced welterweights Karl Amoussou, War Machine (John Koppenhaver), and Carlos ‘Indio’ Pereira.
