Usyk, meanwhile, has gone down in weight.

Tyson Fury wants to have as much power in his punches as possible, which is why “The Gypsy King” will be stepping on the scale at nearly 300 pounds on Friday, the final stop before his heavyweight boxing rematch against Oleksandr Usyk this Sat. night (Dec. 21, 2024) LIVE on DAZN pay-per-view (PPV) from inside Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

“I’m the heaviest that I’ve been in years,” Fury told Fight Hub TV. “I’m like 295 pounds, but solid. I’ve been working on a few abs, you know what I mean.”

Fury weighed 262 pounds for their first fight back in May.

“More power in the punches,” Fury said in a separate interview with Sky Sports Boxing. “When a 20-stone man hits you on the jaw compared to a man that’s 17-stone, it’s a bit different, for sure.”

Usyk is defending his WBA, WBC and WBO heavyweight titles having already defeated “The Gypsy King” by way of split decision back in May. In the weeks that followed his Fury win to unify the heavyweight straps, Usyk was forced to relinquish his IBF belt.

“I feel really good at my weight at 222 pounds,” Usyk said (via Bad Left Hook). “I don’t feel too heavy, I don’t feel too light. I feel perfect. My fans can expect something similar again, but we may switch a few things up a little bit. My team and I have a few secrets for Saturday.”

That’s roughly 11 pounds less than what he weighed for his Fury win last May.

“This is a big opportunity for me, for my country, and for the young people that look up to me and Tyson,” Usyk added. “This is history. I want people 15 years later to remember when I fought and beat Tyson Fury twice in Riyadh.”
