Not again!

Tyson Fury suffered the second loss of his historic boxing career last night (Sat., Dec. 21, 2024) when Oleksandr Usyk defeated him via unanimous decision to defend the WBA, WBC, and WBO Heavyweight titles from inside Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia (watch highlights).

Immediately after the fight, “The Gypsy King” told his former trainer Ben Davison backstage that he believed he was up several rounds.

“What’d you think of the decision?” Fury asked Davidson. “Truthfully, I swear to God, I thought I won it by at least three rounds. I bossed the fight on my front foot.”

There is absolutely no way Fury won the fight by three rounds, but as everyone knows by now, professional fighters can be a bit delusional, especially when a fight is very close.

Even if someone in the camp believes Fury eked out the decision, it would have been by a round.

In their first fight, Fury also believed he was up.

Fury doubled down in the post-fight press conference and claimed the judges gave Uysk a “Christmas gift from the judges.”

The former lineal Heavyweight boxing world champion is now 0-2 against Uysk and has lost two straight for the first time in his career. While “The Gypsy King” has teased retirement in the past, he would be nuts not to take a U.K. mega-fight with Anthony Joshua before hanging up his gloves.
