UFC legend and original Ultimate Fighter, Diego Sanchez, is pulling back the curtain on his past relationship with combat sports “parasite” and trainer/manager/guru Joshua Fabia, one that became so toxic, it nearly led “The Nightmare” to murder.

“For me, it got to such a peak, it was so deep, that either this guy was gonna kill me or I was gonna have to kill him,” Sanchez said on Episode 2 of Dark Side of the Cage, which airs TONIGHT (Jan. 15, 2025) at 10 p.m. ET on VICE TV.

“I did want to kill him,” Sanchez continued. “But I knew if I went to those measures, that I was gonna miss the second half of my child’s childhood.”

The downward spiral eventually led to his UFC release.

Sanchez, 43, terminated his relationship with Fabia back in 2021, but not before he burned several bridges in the MMA community. In the aftermath of their breakup, Fabia claimed it was a “broke” and “strung-out” Sanchez who was the evil mastermind.
