Following a dominant win over Shara Magomedov, Page says he’s chasing the biggest, most exciting matchups.

Michael “Venom” Page continues to impress during his UFC run, earning a unanimous decision win over Shara “Bullet” Magomedov in the co-main event of UFC Saudi Arabia on Saturday.

Magomedov didn’t seem to have much for Page at all and served as a punching bag for MVP through their 15 minute bout. While there were some solid highlights and flashy moves from the British fighter, Page admitted after the fight that he wasn’t particularly impressed with his own performance.

“I wanted a bit more output from myself,” he said during the UFC Saudi Arabia post-fight press conference. “I’m still happy with the result, obviously, but I just know I could’ve done more. I just could’ve done a lot more.”

“There is an effect of being in the UFC,” Page added later. “The magnitude of UFC brand, the event, I think that’s what’s kind of still weighing on me a little bit, and it’s making me a little bit more hesitant. Whereas before when I was at Bellator, there was no hesitation. I was in there. I was very sure of myself.

“I don’t know if I’m wanting it too much. I’m second guessing myself. I don’t know what it is, but there is definitely a UFC effect. But the more comfortable I get, the more you’re gonna see the old MVP.”

Page has looked pretty solid over his three-fight run in the UFC thus far, going 2-1 with the sole loss an extremely close one against Ian Machado Garry. But he hasn’t landed one of his signature viral knockouts in the UFC yet, which were his trademark in Bellator. Those may be hard to come by in the UFC, especially if “Venom” continues to mess around at higher weights.

He fought Shara “Bullet” at 185, one division up from his home at welterweight. Following the fight, he suggested he’d fight at any weight if the opponent was interesting enough.

“I’m the kind of person that would move up another weight division and fight someone like Jiri [Prochazka] because it’s an exciting fight … Like two tornadoes clashing. So yeah, like I said from the beginning. I wanna make a lot of noise.

“So I haven’t got the highlight I wanted just yet. But if I can keep get getting some exciting match-ups, then why not?”

On a more serious tip, Page once again put forward a potential fight with fellow countryman and former UFC champion Leon Edwards, despite “Rocky” no longer holding the belt.

“The only [opponent] I ever really talk about is Leon Edwards, but that’s more so at a specific location. So it’s only for the UK, but it’s not because of him. I just think the fight would be great for my fans over in the UK.”

For now, Edwards is headlining an upcoming March UFC card in London against Jack Della Maddalena. Given how “MVP” came out of Saudi Arabia unscathed, perhaps he can play backup?
