Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) recently booked an important bantamweight headliner with serious title implications for the upcoming UFC Des Moines main event, scheduled for Sat., May 3, 2025 at Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines, Iowa.
Deiveson Figueiredo vs. Cory Sandhagen, according to Leonardo Guimarães.
Figueiredo (24-4-1) snapped a three-fight winning streak with his unanimous decision loss to former champion Petr Yan atop the UFC Macau fight card last fall. As for Sandhagen (17-5), ranked one spot ahead of the Brazilian at No. 4, he’s looking to rebound from his unanimous decision loss to Umar Nurmagomedov at UFC Abu Dhabi back in August.
The winner jumps right back into the mix while the loser heads to the back of the line.
UFC Des Moines will also feature the women’s bantamweight battle between Yana Santos and Miesha Tate. Elsewhere on the card, welterweight veterans Santiago Ponzinibbio and Daniel Rodriguez slug it out at 170 pounds.
