NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Russian UFC newcomer Khabib Nurmagomedov’s name might
not roll smoothly off the tongue, but it appears his may be a name you
want to learn.
The lightweight shocked an always dangerous Kamal Shalorus with a
first-round uppercut knockdown and then outwrestled his foe until finally
locking in a rear-naked choke to finish the fight in the third round.
Nurmagomedov and Shalorus clashed on the preliminary card of Friday’s
UFC on FX 1 event, which took place at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville,
Tenn.
