STOCKHOLM — Local favorite Alexander Gustafsson got a standing ovation from his countrymen as he took the stage to hit the light heavyweight mark right on the nose at Friday’s weigh-ins inside the Ericsson Globe Arena. The Swedish fighter acknowledged that Saturday night’s main event bout with Thiago Silva would be the biggest fight of his career, and then he took the microphone and asked the crowd, in its native tongue, “Are you ready?”
The response suggested that yes, in fact, they are.
The only fighter on Saturday night’s card who appeared not quite ready was Dennis Siver, who weighed in a pound heavy for his featherweight debut against Diego Nunes. According the Swedish MMA Federation officials, he has 90 minutes to make the weight. Full results from Friday’s weigh-in are below.
