A featherweight bout between Bryan Caraway and
Fredson Paixao – initially slated for WEC 47 in March
but scratched when Caraway suffered a knee injury – is now official for
August’s WEC 50 event.
WEC officials today announced the contest, which is expected to take
place on the evening’s preliminary card.
Featuring a bantamweight title fight between current champ Dominick Cruz
and challenger Joseph Benavidez, “WEC 50: Cruz vs. Benavidez” takes
place Aug. 18 at The Pearl at the Palms Casino Resort.
