UFC heavyweight champion Junior dos Santos and former titleholders Frank Mir and Cain Velasquez topped the disclosed payroll for UFC 146, each pocketing $200,000 for their work according to figures released by the Nevada State Athletic Commission.
Dos Santos earned a second-round stoppage over Mir to successfully defend his heavyweight title in the night’s headlining bout, while Velasquez made short work of Strikeforce import Antonio “Bigfoot” Silva ($70,000) in the co-main event.
Outside of the four featured fighters, Stefan Struve ($58,000), Mike Brown ($52,000) and Dan Hardy ($50,000) slotted in as the three highest earners of UFC 146. Struve submitted Lavar Johnson ($26,000) in just 65 seconds in the pair’s pay-per-view clash, while Brown and Hardy fought to victories on the undercard.
UFC 146 took place on May 26, 2012 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. The entire UFC 146 payroll can be seen below, though these figures do not represent a fighter’s total earnings, as sponsorship money and discretionary post-fight bonuses are not publicly disclosed.
In addition, Nelson, Hardy, Struve, Paul Sass each pocketed $70,000 in post-fight bonuses for their exceptional performances.
