On Saturday, UFC light heavyweight champion Jon ‘Bones’ Jones took to Twitter (@JonnyBones) to apologize to fans and to the fighters scheduled to fight at the now cancelled, UFC 151 event.

“Carrying the cross for my company’s decision. If someone has to take the blame, I will accept full responsibility for the way UFC 151 as canceled. I want to sincerely apologize to all the other athletes/fans who’s time and money was waisted. I feel terrible about the way that was handled.”

UFC 151 was cancelled by UFC president Dana White after Jones turned down a fight with Chael Sonnen, who was stepping in for an injured Dan Henderson, on eight days notice.

Since then the UFC has been scrambling to reschedule all of the bouts on the card, with Jones now facing Vitor Belfort on September 22, 2012 in the main event of UFC 152 in Toronto.

‘Bones,’ and coach Greg Jackson, have received a ton of criticism for the decision.
