Despite a report by MMAFighting.com earlier on Tuesday, Kevin “Kimbo Slice” Ferguson will not be facing the world’s strongest man Mariusz Pudzianowski on an October 9th Moosin event. The second Moosin event held on U.S. soil will take place in Chicago.
Moosin exec Corey Fischer said the promotion was trying to put together a “Kimbo” vs. Pudzianowski fight for Moosin’s October show but nothing has been finalized. He also said the event could include former UFC champ Tim Sylvia and Korean giant Hong Man Choi.
“I would say the Kimbo-Pudzian fight is the furthest from being finished, but we’re trying to work on it and make it happen,” Fischer said.
Sherdog.com reporter, Loretta Hunt messaged “Slice’s” manager to inquire about the fight against the Polish strong man, posting this note on her Twitter account.
I just did a quick text with Kimbo’s manager, who said “NO”, Kimbo is not fighting on Moosin in Sept.
Pudzianowski is coming off a loss to Tim Sylvia at the first U.S. Moosin event in May after tapping due to strikes. While “Kimbo Slice” is coming off a loss in his last and final fight under the UFC banner against fellow “TUF” housemate Matt Mitrione at UFC 113 in the same month of May.
Moosin is certainly trying to be entertaining by putting together fights that are more freakish than competitive, but hey, if not them then who?
