Press Release – TORONTO, September 20, 2012 –The Score Fighting Series (SFS) today confirmed that Chris “The Polish Hammer” Horodecki will take on veteran Kalvin “Hot Boy” Hackney in the main event at the RBC Centre in Sarnia, Ontario on Friday, October 19th.

Horodecki (18-4), from London, Ontario, will be making his second appearance at The Score Fighting Series. The Team Tompkins product is a WEC and IFL veteran, where he made his name for his aggressive style and technical striking. He is currently honing his skills at the Tristar gym in Montreal as he looks to climb the featherweight ladder.
And he will most definitely have the crowd behind him on October 19th, with a lot of supporters expected to make the short trip to Sarnia.

“Hackney is coming to my backyard and he’ll be looking for the win, but I’m not going to let that happen,” said Horodecki. “He’s going to be a tough opponent. He’s athletic and strong and comes forward with a very aggressive style. But I’m ready for whatever he’s got.”

Hackney (12-3), from Alexandria, Louisiana, is determined to make his mark on what will be his SFS debut. A lethal striker with more than half his wins coming via knockout, Hackney’s power is boosted thanks to his competitive body building as well as a successful high school wrestling career. He will be looking to use this power to overcome Horodecki, knowing that three of his opponent’s four career losses have been via KO.

Event promoter Brendan Fyfe said: “The Score Fighting Series looks to showcase dynamic young fighters and to create the most exciting match-ups possible. This fight fits the bill on both counts. In Chris and Kalvin we have two guys who are more than willing to stand and trade which is always a recipe for action.”

Horodecki vs. Hackney joins the likes of John Fraser vs. Tyler Toner, Jesse Gross vs. Seiji Sugiman-Marangos and Lyndon Whitlock vs. Rick Glenn on the main card, with further fights to be announced soon.

In preliminary card welterweight action, Josh Taveirne from Windsor, Ontario will look to get his record to .500 when he takes on Brett Biederman from Paris, Ontario. Both fighters are coming off losses in their last appearances with Taveirne falling to Chad Laprise in an April Bellator match-up while Biederman was submitted by Ryan Dickson in August 2011.

The main card will be televised live in Canada on theScore Television Network and in the US on AXS TV beginning 10:00pm EST. Tickets are on sale now starting at $29.95 and can be purchased through the RBC Centre box office and rbccentresarnia.com. Additional fights will be announced soon.
