Andrey Koreshkov joined the Bellator ranks with an undefeated record and the reputation of a fearsome finisher. Four fights later, he’s still unbeaten and coming off his most impressive win, a crushing knockout of the DREAM champion Marius Zaromskis.
And he’s also one win away from fighting for the Bellator welterweight championship.
To do that, he’ll have to go through the promotion’s first-ever divisional champ, Lyman Good. The two now have a date for their tournament finals matchup, as the promotion confirmed on Thursday that the pair will meet at Bellator 82 on Nov. 30 at The Soaring Eagle Casino & Resort in Mount Pleasant, Michigan.
Koreshkov will enter with a 12-0 record, with 11 of those wins coming by way of finish (eight KO’s, three submissions). Before his first-round knockout of Zaromskis, he had beaten Jordan Smith in the tournament, marking the only time in his career he’s gone to a decision.
Meanwhile, Good will also come in riding the momentum of a knockout win, as he defeated Koreshkov’s teammate Michail Tsarev in a semifinal bout with a second-round finish.
Good, who is riding a three-fight win streak, is 14-2 in his career.
Bellator 82 will also feature the promotional debuts of intriguing talents Michael Page and Shawn Bunch.
Page (2-0) is a flashy standup specialist who has gained a cult following with his striking displays. Bunch was a decorated collegiate wrestler who recently transitioned to MMA while training with American Kickboxing Academy. He’ll be making his professional debut at the show, though his opponent has yet to be announced.
