LAS VEGAS — As expected, both competitors in Saturday’s UFC heavyweight title rematch made weight. Champion Junior dos Santos and former titleholder Cain Velasquez regularly clock in well below the 265-pound weight limit, and Friday’s UFC 155 weigh-in at the MGM Grand Garden Arena was no exception.

Dos Santos clocked in at 239, Velasquez, who had most of the crowd on his side, was 240. Dos Santos’ weight was the same as for their first fight on Nov. 12, 2011, which dos Santos won via first-round TKO. Velasquez was nine pounds under his weight for the first bout.

All 24 fighters made weight in Friday’s relatively uneventful weigh-ins. The only near-skirmish of note came as Melvin Guillard and Jamie Varner posed for photos after the weigh-in for their bout, which was rescheduled from Dec. 15. Guillard twice had to be held back by UFC president Dana White, while Varner barely acknowledged Guillard’s behavior.
