After campaigning for weeks to get a spot on UFC 158 in his hometown of Montreal, the UFC obliged and booked Ricci vs. Colin Fletcher on the March 16 card. Dave Deibert of Postmedia News first reported the match-up, and MMAFighting.com later confirmed it with sources close to the bout.
The fight, which will be contested at lightweight, pits the runner-ups of the last two seasons of “The Ultimate Fighter.” Ricci, 26, lost to Colton Smith in the welterweight finals of TUF 16, while Fleticher, 30, lost to Norman Parke in the TUF: The Smashes finale last month in Australia.
Ricci enters the bout with a 7-3 professional record. Fletcher’s recent loss dropped his record to 8-2.
UFC 158, headlined by Georges St-Pierre vs. Nick Diaz, will take place at the Bell Centre in Montreal.
